I've always wanted to jump on the dropper post wagon bit the price has always been too high for what I wanted to spend. The KS Eten is priced just right for what a dropper post is worth to me. Keep in mind that this is the first dropper I've ever used but I think the only places it's lacking compared to its bigger brothers is weight and only having one bolt to secure the saddle (who cares??? It still offers forward and rear tilt angle). Since this is the only dropper I've ever used, I have no idea how much heavier it is. I can tell you it is heavier than my standard aluminum post that it replaced (duh).

As far as installation goes, it is pretty straight forward aside from the fact that the instructions are almost non-existent. Everything you need to install the post comes with the kit aside from extra wire ties to route the remote cable back to your dropper.

Functionality speaking, I love how the adjustment throughout the 100mm of travel are infinite. Meaning you can position the post at any desired height throughout the travel of the post. Simply push the remote to disengage the post, put weight on your seat, and then depress the remote to lock it into place. Simple and sweet. The post holds firm at any given length you lock it into. There is a little side-to-side play with the saddle and coming from a person that is super picky with seat positon, you can take my thoughts on this to the bank... You can't notice it while you ride! The speed at which the post returns the saddle is fast but not super fast. I've seen a specialized post that can launch things off of it like a catapult. It's nowhere near as fast but still gets your seat back into position in a hury w/out the potential of racking your nuts.

All-in-all you really can't ask for a better post at this price. It's smooth and reliable functionality are all you really need. That combined with its durability in regards to holding up the riders weight are fantastic. I'm an aggressive XC rider that likes to dabble in AM as well. This thing seems to be doing the trick so far. I agree with others that once you go with a dropper, you'll never go back!!!

One last thing, I do wish this post was a tad longer (400mm as opposed to 385mm). Male sure you measure your current post to ensure you'll have enough height past the recommended max height on this product.

I bought this product for my wife's bike. Install wasnt overly complicated. At the hand lever the cable sticks out and is capped off, making it stick out a bit, not the most attractive design. It took a little bit of adjustment of the cable to get it just right, the instructions in the box were pretty vague on setting the tolerance of the cable and weren't correct anyway. After a couple rides the seat began to fall and rise on its own so it took some readjusting,. then again a few weeks later the post had the same symptoms. Since then the post hasnt had any symptoms. The dropper post is pretty slow to drop and rise, at least compared to my Reverb, but that's on the opposite end of the spectrum and price. Now that it has worked consistently I'd say it is a good value, especially at less than half the cost of other dropper posts, but it is definitely not a perfect product.

Comments about KS Eten Remote Seatpost:

I use this for all mountain/enduro riding and it works great. not the lightest post out there but it does the job. It is a little slow coming up, but better than it shooting straight up. The lever on the bars is very comfortable to use and looks great. There is a little wiggle in the seat but is unnoticeable when riding.
Overall, I recommend getting this dropper post if you don't have one and don't want to drop a ton of cash into one. Its a great dropper for a great price.

Comments about KS Eten Remote Seatpost:

The KS eten remote has been a great upgrade to my bike. I doubted whether or not a 4" drop would be enough because I'd manually lower my regular post almost 6", but 4" has successfully dropped the post to where it's not in my way.

The post's functionality has been great. It goes up and down with no issues so far. As some others have commented, after a few rides the post has developed a slight rotational movement for the seat which I can only detect visually. I'm unable to feel this movement when seated.

First dropper post ever. The product itself is great and works awsome. I have never installed one of these so i figured the directions would lead me...UM...NO! After screwing up the first cable, had to buy another and finally was able to figure it out.

        • Mountain Biking

Comments about KS Eten Remote Seatpost:

Not too bad to install however I did make the mistake of routing the cable behind the seat post as I had seen others do. Unfortunately my rear tire grabbed the cable when the seat was lowered and under full suspension compression and damaged the outer cable where I had attached it to the frame with zip-ties. A generic replacement shifter housing from the local bike shop was a cheap and easy fix and the cable itself was undamaged. During the installation of the thumb switch (which by the way does NOT fit my ODI grip as advertised) I managed to fracture/split the plastic where the nut is. I admit this is my fault as the instructions specify a torque but I don't think that I was too rough with it. I would recommend using some of the friction paste used for the seat post install under the thumb switch and tighten it very carefully and only as much as needed to securely hold it in position. I sent an email to KS to order a replacement and enquire about purchasing the more upscale aluminum switch from the higher end models but received no reply so far. The switch works fine even though it is cracked but may fail at any time so a replacement is required. Even with these minor issues I think this is a great product at a fair price and my rides are much more enjoyable with it.
