KS LEV 27.2mm Seatpost
In the world of modern all-mountain riding, an adjustable seat post is an invaluable upgrade that can significantly affect your ride quality. The Kind Shock LEV features 100mm of travel to keep you in the right position for any terrain.
- Superlight air/oil height adjustable seatpost, about 100 grams lighter than other KS posts (460g)
- Stationary remote cable routing, locates housing stop below the center collar
- Housing stop rotates 360 degrees around the post for custom cable routing options
- Locks anywhere in vertical range (which means the post will not extend when lifting the bike by the saddle)
- 2-bolt micro-adjustable seat rail clamp, angled bolts increase clamp strength
- Remote features a carbon fiber remote handlebar release lever, inline barrel adjuster and braided cables (ODI Lock-On compatible)
The remote lever that works with the lock-on grips makes for a clean cockpit. Also the cable attaches to the middle of the post so it doesn't go up and down with the seat. I'm big rider at 200 lbs and no reliability issue so far.
PROS: Easy To Install, Attractive Design, Durable
BEST USES: Upgrade, Mountain Biking
it was a little fiddly to install, and while the handlebar shifter is great with the way it acts as a lock on for ODI grips, I do find it gets in the way of my front gear shifter a bit. This wouldn't be an issue with any 1xX bikes though.

CONS: Ooccasional Malfunction
PROS: 272mm Diameter Post, 272 Diameter Post, Easy to Adjust, Easy to Use
CONS: Fiddly To Install, Not Cheap
I really like the remote's size and shape- good at staying out of the way and fitting in smaller spaces. The post actuates a little slower than others I have seen, but this is a good thing in my opinion, as I'm not a fan of having certain areas tenderized.
I was pleasantly surprised that the post was all black- the newest version- Jenson ought to put an updated picture on their site.
Otherwise, I can't comment on reliability or longevity of the post, as I've only been using it for a few weeks. I will say that it's a good idea to have your LBS install the post- cost me about $20 but I'll bet it saved me a load of frustration.
All in all a great product as far as I can tell. It's a little spendy, but it does what it is supposed to do, and well.

Installation was straight-forward and I highly recommend watching the KS installation video on YouTube. One issue which gets discussed is how to secure the cable housing. My recommendation is to use nylon tie wraps. This allows you to measure the correct housing length and to adjust the position of the dropper post actuator at the same time before making any cuts. I was worried about the tie wraps sliding around, so I placed a small drop of super glue on each one and it is now rock solid.
The rising action of the dropper post is smooth and fast (not blazing fast, but fast enough). Compression is also smooth and does not require a hard sit to get it going, just normal sitting down.
I would recommend this post to anyone who is in the market for a 27.2 diameter 100mm dropper. I am extremely picky when it comes to maunfacturing quality and KS makes a very impressive product - you will not be disappointed!

The included “brake noodle” allows for a 90 degree bend of the cable, as it leaves the remote. The noodle itself does not fit securely within the remote. I used a very small zip-tie to secure this. This isn’t a big deal for some, but for the price of this product, I would have appreciated a better option for the cable noodle to be secured to the remote.
The same applies to the other end of the noodle. The cable housing sits very loosely within the noodle’s other end. Black electrical tape secured this for me. Again, I would have appreciated a better alternative.
Also, a barrel adjuster would have been a nice inclusion from KS, in order to make minor adjustments on the cable tautness. Some you tube installation videos show an included barrel adjuster, however that may have shipped with a previous version of the LEV, since those videos seemed to always include a braided cable housing (my version came with a normal shifter cable housing).
On the seat post itself:
The included cable housing ferrule is very fragile. The protruding tip broke off, but I suppose that was because I tried to place the red coupler housing cap over the coupler housing, while the ferrule was seated inside of the coupler. You’re supposed to pull this ferrule down as you place the red cover on. Once the cover is in, the ferrule slides back into the coupler. The seat post shipped with a removable warning tag on the actual coupler housing, which warns about this. Of course I saw this on my garage floor after the fact. It must have fallen off during unpacking. Anyway, this doesn’t seem to affect the operation of my dropper. However, I did order 2 spare ferrules just in case I need to replace in the future.
Overall, the functionality of the device seems flawless. Aside from the minor complaints listed above, I am happy with the performance of the device and would definitely buy again. I’ve only ridden with it twice now, but so far I love it!
rite your review here. It must be at least 50 characters long. Consider whether you would recommend this product and what you like or dislike about it.

Post is a little slow to return, and the pressure is not adjustable. Definitely not a deal breaker unless a fast return is really important for you.
