I currently ride trails around the Austin TX area, so mostly hard pack, rocky, some sandy and slimy creek crossings. City Park, and Walnut Creek ride areas are two of my favorites although very different. No mud compared to the PA spring thaw that I was used to so I can not comment of the Kenda 2.2's in the mud. Curt from Curt's Cyclery, Nazareth, PA (one of the few people in the world I would trust my life to) suggested this tire to me afer describing the riding conditions here in the Austin Tx area. I'd say he hit it pretty much on the money. I read a lot of negatives about this tire when used with tubes. I'd have to say the Stan's No tube kit makes this tire perform as designed. With no tubes, the paper thin Kenda sidewalls have a chance to work similar to the racing slicks on my drag car. When aired down to the 25-30 psi range, they wrinkle, grab and bite on anything they touch and still roll pretty good. On loose rocky hard pack stepped climbs like City Park Motorcycle Trail, I could feel the rocks bumping the rim through the tire and of course no flats since no tubes to pinch. I did add a bit more air after feeling the rim but the traction at that low of an air pressure was simply awesome. This tire also handles road work pretty good too for short periods of time. After about 20 miles of road riding, you will be wishing you took your road bike out and left the mountain bike at home. This tire allows me to ride the mountain bike on the road with my wife, or jump into the off road aggressive trails with my friends.

Comments about Kenda Karma DTC Folding Tire:

I bought these for the Black Fly race in upstate NY. This is a 40 mile MTB race on rugged dirt roads, some mud, not much single track. I ran them at 70 psi - tires were nearly ideal for this application. Some people ran cyclocross but many of these flatted at various points on the course.

Comments about Kenda Karma DTC Folding Tire:

I am a cross country racer who bought a pair of these hoping to save some weight. They installed easily, but I ripped the sidewall on my front tire on my first ride so stopped using them. They are too light weight for the trails I tend to ride.

Comments about Kenda Karma DTC Folding Tire:

Very fast tire, Grips the trails well but be cautious with loose gravel areas, this tire will slip. I road kenda nevagals but everyone kept passimpng me up on the trails. with these tires I feel much more competitive. I ran them at 26 2.0 front and back but the front couldnt handle rough terrain, switch it for a 26 2.2 in the front 2.0 in the back and now these tires are money!

Comments about Kenda Karma DTC Folding Tire:

Very fast rolling tire, can't survive if there are rocks and will puncture easily if there is goarse, don't waste your money, I'll probably buy maxxis ignitors they might roll slower but at least they won't puncture as easily. I'll never buy a kenda tire again after using this one. Although specialised tires aren't much better. I reckon it's bike manufactures spec.ing the lightestest tires available to get a good weight number for their Bikes. I would say I have rode these tires about 15 times and now there are going in the bin

        The DTC 2

        By Kevin

        from Spokane, Wa.

Comments about Kenda Karma DTC Folding Tire:

The DTC 2.0 is my spring/ early summer tire. It is really fast and fun. The tacky side knobs stick well to wet rocks and roots, and although the traction in mud isn’t stellar, it sheds the mud well. About mid-summer when the trails get sandy with loose gravel over hard pack, I generally take a weight/rolling resistance penalty to use something with taller knobs to dig in a little more. I’ve had them a few years, but since I only use them for three or four months out of the year I’ve only gotten about half a year of use, but I ride a lot when I am using them. They seem to be wearing down at about an average pace. It’s a good tire, but not an all-rounder, nor is it made to be.

Comments about Kenda Karma DTC Folding Tire:

I'm a big guy at 6'3" and 220lbs. I dropped 1-1/2lbs or rotational weight by switching to the 2.0 Karma with Stan's. Even at my size, I'm able to run pressures as low as 30psi. Great acceleration, excellent traction, very predictable handling and they roll really well.I mostly ride semi-technical XC trails with plenty of roots and rock gardens. Tires have held up great for me.

        I ride a 29" bike

        By Brad

from East Jordan, Mi United States

Comments about Kenda Karma DTC Folding Tire:

I ride a 29" bike. I have ridden this tire 100+ miles so far. I switched from Bontrager for the spin weight reduction, they worked well. The Kenda , for me, has all the traction I need riding in northern lower Michigan. Roots, rocks, sand, loose over hard pack, climbing. It works great. I would be running two Karmas but I am sacrificing 60 grams by running a Maxxis Ignitor 2.1, 560 grams , in the front. A consideration for steering. By changing to the Maxxis and the Kenda I saved 260 grams. To lighten up even more I am running light weight 26" tubes, 95 grams. That lighten the spin weight by another 230 grams. For my needs and the trail performance it has provided I rate it 5 stars
