I've been running a Happy Medium for my back tire on my hardtail for about 4 months. Excellent traction and fast rolling. Good grip on hard pack, roots and rocks. Only down side is when things get a little wet, traction is not so good on wet roots.

I started with Small block eight on front, not enough bite in the turns, I really like the Specialized "Captain" a little too much wieght. the "Happy Medium" is truely that.

The Positives:
I ride mostly around Lake tahoe and the sierra foot hills with its low rolling resistance and aggressive side nobs this tire excels on almost any trail in the area. I'm a big guy (200lb)and tend to run this tire with a lower than recommended pressure and have never Had a pinch flat.
The Negative:
It will feel a little loose going into corners until you get it over enough then it just grabs which can take a little getting used to. Since it has a semi-slick middle tread quick/ hard straight line braking can result in a skid particularly on steep sections. In the mud it's just slippery.
