Comments about Kenda Kross Plus Tire:

I bought these for my errand bike, and am very impressed with them. The center patch rolls very smooth on pavement, and the side treads provide security for riding through wet grass or some mud. I wish they made these for the 29er. I run Big Apples on one 29er, and would like to have the side treads on these Kendas.

Overall I am very pleased with these tires, and the price is excellent. With only about 200 miles on them, I've ridden through some patches of debris and they have not punctured. The center patch seems thick and reinforced. Also, the volume is sufficient to handle curbs and potholes without pinch flatting.

After about 1000 miles I think these tires will have plenty of longevity, and they're great in water too.

Comments about Kenda Kross Plus Tire:

I use these tires for touring on a mountain bike frame. Good for the road and light or hard pack dirt. Very grippy on asphalt. They are the smoothest and quietest tires I've ever had, on any bike (at 60 psi). They are so smooth and quiet they feel as though they are heavy and slow, until I look down and see I'm in a higher gear than normal and am travelling a couple of miles faster than normal. Can't speak to longevity or wet pavement (reason for the 4 stars) but I will update as time goes on. Great value for the price, $18 per.

The tires seem solid and have performed well so far. Was very happy that Jenson shipped them in a full sized box so they weren't folded.

Comments about Kenda Kross Plus Tire:

I'm really glad I decided to put these on my 2006 Trek 6500 SLR, as most of my riding is on paved roads, with some rail trails and dirt/single track mixed in -- these tires are a perfect fit. Nice and smooth on the road, and the side knobs keep you upright in the dirt and sand. A great tire at a reasonable price!

Comments about Kenda Kross Plus Tire:

I highly recommend using these only in the REAR for mountain bikes. The rolling resistance is better than a K-RAD which I also use.

The front tire is your call but the rear, if you intend to pedal up hills faster, is this tire. The side knobs don't do much except if you take sharp turns, but the tire itself is better than Kenda Small Block 8 IMO.

Its a dual purpose tire because on the asphalt it rolls fast as well.

Comments about Kenda Kross Plus Tire:

For the price, they can't be beat, provided you don't intend on doing too much more than light-to-moderate trail riding. Perfect for commuting where mixed terrain is seen, or for those in suburbia who mostly use paved paths and see the occasional hard-pack / limestone trail. If you're likely to see roots, rocks, loose or muddy conditions, or steeper inclines, you'd be better served by something with more tread down the center. That said, I've used mine on some gnarly, mucky trails without much fuss, you just have to know their limit. Awesome tire for what it is though.

Comments about Kenda Kross Plus Tire:

On my first ride with these, I was stunned when I finished my typical 15 mile road trip on my commuter bike in about the same time as with my road bike. I was expecting much more rolling resistance than I experienced. At 65 psi, it smoothed out some rough sections where I normally just hold tight and bear it on my road bike. I can now steer off the road onto about any surface--grass, sand, gravel, etc. without the instability of road tires on these surfaces.

Comments about Kenda Kross Plus Tire:

I've had these tires for six years, no lie. These tires have about 7500 miles on them. 95% on paved trials and streets. Try not to, but I have riden over glass. No problems what so ever. Plan to replace them with a new pair. Well worth the money if you ride primarily on paved surfaces. Work well off road as well.
