Kenda's Nevegal tires has a bunch of awards for a reason. Plus being designed by DH/XC legend John Tomac, it add to a durable and dependable product. The tire combines a relatively fast-rolling, ramp-fronted, mid-height tread that gives you a great intermediate tire that glues itself to rocks and roots with equal tenacity, and paddles its way through mud and sand. I love the rounded profile that makes it roll into corners quickly and smoothly.
I've been using these tires tubeless on non-tubeless rims, and it's been working great! The sidewalls are tough and hasn't leaked or burped any air. It's the perfect tire to run on lower psi for better traction & cornering.

The Nevegal gets praise from everywhere. It offers great performance in a wide variety of conditions and rolls fairly well for what it is. So I will try to focus on what keeps it from being a better tire.
The treadlife is fair for a tire of this level - it's designed to be soft for grip, not hard for road use. Road use will chew them up in no time although a friend has had them for over 1500 miles with a lot of road mixed in.
The grip is decent on a wide variety of surfaces, but doesn't stand out in the wet in my experience. The rolling resistance is similarly good, without being great.
The achilles heel of these tires seems to be the puncture resistance. I got a ride-ending puncture flat from a small, dull twig on a gravel road of all things. Add to that many thorns that did not ever puncture my Panaracer and you have a tire that does not respond well to sharp objects.
Another issue I have had is quality control. One of my tires delaminated and caused air to leak between the tread and casing, causing a "bubble" that ended a ride. Luckily, Kenda warrantied the tire site unseen with just some pictures of the damage. Another tire similarly delaminated but this tire had been previously punctured so I did not bother trying to get it warrantied. A third tire has had issues seating correctly no matter what I do and loses its air after sitting for 2 days. I should add that I do not run sealant so I depend on the bead seating properly. I have not had an issue in the past with Panaracer or Michelin UST tires but the Nevegals seem hit or miss.
Overall, one of the best tires on the market. Just don't convince yourself they are better in every way than every other tire - they're a great blend of qualities though.

Seems to be promising just havent figured out what psi to run it at. Tire seems very loose at high psi.

Comments about Kenda Nevegal DTC UST Tire:
Over the last two years, in a search for something better, I've strayed away from running Nevegals on my 26" wheeled Stumpjumper. For the 26" wheel, I've used Panaracers, WTB tires, Trail Kings, and Secialized the Captains. I'm so happy to be riding Nevegals again. The UST version mounted on compatible rims with a floor pump. On the trail, the supple ride quality combined with reliable transition in to-and out of corners is the best in my opinion. Nevegals are a bit heavy, and they have a slightly higher rolling resistance, but my legs will to get used to it. Overall, an excellent design for a wide variety of trail conditions. Cheers!

Comments about Kenda Nevegal DTC UST Tire:
I previously had schwalbe Hans dampf and they had what seems like better grip, but they let go all of a sudden. I feel a lot more confident on the kendas. They start to s.ide gradually rather than just letting go and my strava times have dropped since.

Comments about Kenda Nevegal DTC UST Tire:
I've gone through countless tires. Nevegals have jumbo tread that make them invincible on the trial. Strong in heavy rocky terrain, moist and mud, heavy leaves. So far I've put nearly 100 miles of hardcore terrain on them and they still look and feel brand new. I will be stocking up on these and buying some for the future.

Good tubeless tires, i've had maxxis and hutchinson where i have gotten flats from the weak side walls, went this season without changing these kendas, and for the price i think it's the best bang for the buck!

Comments about Kenda Nevegal DTC UST Tire:
I had been looking for a solid front tire for a long time and finally decided to try the nevegals. I tried Specialized's The Captain, Continental Mountain King, Specialized Fast Track. None of those impressed me and in fact felt very sketchy in corners. Once I put the Nevegal on the front of my bike, it was like I had all the confidence I needed to go fast.
I'm very impressed with these tires over all, but the one thing this tire is not very good at, is rolling. Even on dirt it feels like I'm rolling on tank treads. However, that's a small price to pay for confidence mid turn.
Get these if you want to lean your bike without thinking twice.

Best tires I ever used for the Southern California trails. Great traction for climbing and cornering on loose terrain. UST works great.
Comments about Kenda Nevegal DTC UST Tire:
I run Kenda Nevegals on all my mountain bikes. Great for all conditions in a changing environment. The mountains of NC offer all kinds of terrain. I don't want to be changing tires all the time. Nevegals have never let me down. Wet, dry, rocky, rooty, sandy, mud, and our famous red clay. These tires tackle all of them. A great price from Jenson just sweetens and seals the deal!

Comments about Kenda Nevegal DTC UST Tire:
Great tire. Put the 2.3 Nevegals on my bike and running them tubeless. Great grip on steep climbs and I have more control on the gnarly descents. Would buy these again!! Only gripe is the amount of graphics on the sidewall.....
Comments about Kenda Nevegal DTC UST Tire:
This aren't the lightest tires by any stretch (i.e. ~1000g) but they roll nice, hook up well and have a solid, sturdy sidewall. They can be VERY tight in the bead for getting onto a rim (Mavic 819 Disc, in my case) and I suggest Pedro big stick tire levers to get them on the rim. After that they will set the bead into the rim very easy....last one I set with a hand pump....no compressor or even a floor pump! I did a have a problem though as the tire had a wobble in it and my very tight clearance chainstays rubbed. The rim was totally straight, just the tire wasn't correct.
