Great on the hard pack trail. Soft dirt and sand will eat the tire up, cornering can be a bit sloppy feeling, and the tire my slip out if leaning in too far. But, the design of the tire is for hard pack, and does well at that. Climbs well, and desends well in most of the moab trail area. Wear's supprizingly slowly, for haveing the softer knobs in the ceter. verry good tire, that was built with a pourpose.

I have a lot of time on these tires, mainly because I got a sweet deal on a bunch of them. I can only recommend them for use in the rear because they are really bad at cornering. In the rear, they are fairly durable, grip surprisingly well and are a good choice for SOCAL style riding.

Comments about Kenda Small Block 8 UST Tire:
Was looking for a faster tire without losing traction on hard pack single track hills. Although this tire weighs less than my rear Velociraptor, I don't really notice the difference. It is significantly smoother and faster. I'm able to stand up and push hard without the tires losing grip on all the trails except when on roots. Everything seems to give out on roots. The tire grips well in the corners at high speed. I'm only using this on the rear of my hard tail, keeping the velociraptor on the front because it hasn't failed me yet. I'm very happy with the purchase, the price is right, and I dont see a reason to try anything else at this point. I've only tried this tire on dry and damp trails. No mud so I'm not sure how they shed.

Comments about Kenda Small Block 8 UST Tire:
I have only used it twice on tarmac with my hard tail bike. So far it roll well on hard pack, very smooth and low resistance. I was able to bike faster with these smooth and small knob. I am concern with the thin side wall which is not durable and can cause more leak when off-road. During fast turn on hard pack it grip very well but not sure how it will perform in loose ground. I would recommend to a friend for recreational use but not for serious MTB.

A good choice for XC riding. Relatively fast (low rolling resistance) and durable. Provides good grip on hard and dry terrain, didn't try it in the wet.

Comments about Kenda Small Block 8 UST Tire:
I like the tire but wish it had better side traction. I will most likely replace it with the Kenda Slant 6 when it wears out.

Comments about Kenda Small Block 8 UST Tire:
Great tire. I used a Kenda Nevegal for both front and rear for the past year and recently switched to a Small Block 8 in the rear to have a little less tread back there. So far I have not seen any decrease in traction and feel like I have less rolling resistance than before.

Comments about Kenda Small Block 8 UST Tire:
I like this tire but give me a break, using tire sealant voids any warrenty with the tire. Who would run a tubeless tire without a sealant? Just a copout so [@]would never have to warrent any tire sold.
Comments about Kenda Small Block 8 UST Tire:
Fast tire for Utah cross country races(rear tire, nevegal up front). I run a 1.9 tubeless and have never had a flat.

Comments about Kenda Small Block 8 UST Tire:
Its unreal that people rate this tire low because it doesnt do what they want it to do. This tire is not advertised to do those things and people rate the tire down for that. Idiots! This tire does everything it says it can do. Its NOT meant for mud, wet condtions on rooty, rocky, etc. On dry or tacky hardpack its the best tire I have ridden. I use it as a general purpose tire and do ride it in all conditions, but I also know its performance on some trails is limited.
Comments about Kenda Small Block 8 UST Tire:
it's a mtn bike tire that works well in only one condition (dry hard pack) and basically for racing. anything else it's useless, and actually dangerous in rocky descents and rock gardens. which i have come to learn the hard way.
