I actually use these when I wear non-kevlar jeans on my motorcycle.
On the bike, they make my jeans look like floods slightly, but it's worth the trade off. Wish I had these on when I crashed a month ago, my knees still look like pizza toppings. For having dog bowls, they're pretty lightweight so i don't feel them too much when I'm riding or walking around.
I'm 6'1'' & 205 lbs & the Large were perfect!
