I would have to agree with the other reviewer Jeffrey, these don't really work in the long run. Neoprene doesn't really provide any protection for the finish on the chain stay, but it does deaden some of the chain and derailler noise. But keeping the lizard skin positioned properly to stop the derailler klunk will interfere with the rear cogs, which will either wear out the lizard skin quicker or push it out of position. I've had better luck with the Cycle Stuff chainstay wrap and the Salsa leather protector. I will say that lizard skins work great for other areas of the bike as long as they are taken off and cleaned underneath regularly, just not on the chain stay.

Comments about Lizard Skins Chainstay Protector:
These things are great. It may not protect as much as an old inner tube, but it is about 1/6th of the weight. I have had mine for 6 years and it still works like new. it may be a bit dirty, but the velcro still works great and it goes on and off my frame in about 20 seconds. a great, if possibly unnecessary purchase.

These work perfect for my Nukeproof frame. Had ordered smaller ones with measuring correctly and they wouldnt fit. Buy one size over what you think you need.

Comments about Lizard Skins Chainstay Protector:
Bought this to replace the piece of inner tube I was using. This is far nicer looking and does a great job but found it to be a little undersized for my alloy frame. The next size up would be way too large.

Comments about Lizard Skins Chainstay Protector:
I have purchased many Lizard Skin products through the years, and the first item was as good as my last purchase. I have never found a product from them that didnt do everything it was supposed to do - and more! I also found that the "swingarm" sized protector also fit over the lower legs of my Fox 40 forks, and now they are protected too!

This little guy works great for your AM/XC bike. It seems to be stong enough to handle the amount of abust AM riding trows at it. It is a lot lighter than using an old tube and is much easier to install as well.

Comments about Lizard Skins Chainstay Protector:
super easy to install, just wrap around the swing arm and go. only complaint is that mine likes to shift and find its own "comfortable" position so it never has the Lizard Skins logo facing out but as long as it keeps my swing arm protected I could care less

Comments about Lizard Skins Chainstay Protector:
Make sure that if you get one of these, you get a black one. I got a pink one (really good looking), but it soon turned into a black one. I've done everything I can think of, but it just keeps getting nastier and nastier. It works great, but make sure that you get a dark colored one.

Comments about Lizard Skins Chainstay Protector:
This is a great chainstay protector. Just be sure you buy the right size--I accidentally bought the "standard" size and realized that it wouldn't fit aluminum tubes. Once I got the right size I was very happy with the purchase.
