I use one of these on my trunk rack to lock the wheels, bikes and rack all together in a big awkward mass. It gives protection from the passing by wheel thief. I use an extra tough padlock to lock this cable together. A determined thief will steal anything but with this at least it will take them longer.

This product works as intended and is used by me frequently. It works best when on trips where multiple bikes are on the rack and the cable can be weaved through most parts.

Bought this cable to lock bikes together in the back of the pickup for shuttle trips, and ferry trips to the Sunshine Coast. Just needed a little piece of mind when we leave the truck and bikes in a parking lot while we grab some lunch etc. Thankfully the cable has never been tested by a thief, but it does add a great sense of security.
I would recommend this lock for others for the same usage, as well as those locking multiple bikes at the same location.

This cable doesn't quite add up to a cable you'd use if youre locking your bike with a Kryptonite NY 3000 or NY Fahgettaboudit like I do. Its more suitable for lower level locks like the Kryptonite Evolution. If they made a 20mm version I'd get it. But its the best of what it is. Keep in mind that any cable no matter how thick, braided or not braided, cannot stand up to what a chain or u-lock can so be smart about how you use it.

It does the job. I bought the 30-footer and you can weave it through 3-4 bikes plus tires. Great product for a great price.
