i see this and other Mavic wheels get blasphemed for their freehubs all the time. Know this: Mavic reliability does not end at the rim. Mavic freehubs (like ALL freehubs) are subject to wear and require service. The ITS-4 freehub in the heavy-duty line of Mavic MTB wheels use a very lightweight oil for lubrication that requires occasional refreshing, just like the lube on your chain. This service requires two cone wrenches and about five minutes of your time. It was the easiest wheel service i have ever done. Anyone who blasphemes Mavic as a result of the freehubs on their wheels just does not understand that nothing is service-free.
These wheels are ultra-tough and cost about half as much as any competing wheel that even compares to them.

The wheels themselves are terrific. They are solid and rather light. The hub is trash, however, and I hop Mavic stands behind their product and replaces it for me. Given that I rode Mavic's entry-level 317 wheels for two years with no real problems, this is a huge disappointment.
