Comments about Maxxis Ardent Folding Tire:

I've long been a huge Nevegal fan, but when I had my Intense 6.6, I hook it up with the Ardent's, I decided I'd give them a few weeks to see if I liked them. Very glad I did too, as this tire has completely changed my view on what I mtn bike tire should be. Right away you can tell it's a much faster tire than the Nevegal, and so far it's exceeded the Nev in cornering too. Tight turns I usually drift around I was now railing like never before. These tires grip the dry and loose trails like nothing I've ridden before. Haven't had a chance to put them to the test on wet roots yet, but given how impressive they've been so far I'd be very surprised if they didn't excel there as well.

        Well done Maxxis!

Comments about Maxxis Ardent Folding Tire:

I have this on the rear as a 2.25. It rails around corners, confidence builder! Also tough with beefier sidewalls then the Nevegal it replaced. Does not handle slimmy mud well when climbing. Rolls a little better than the Nevegal, although that is not saying much.

Comments about Maxxis Ardent Folding Tire:

Use these for front & back. Good traction for all conditions. Only grip is the dead zone when you leave them over. You have to lean them over hard before the side knobs hook up, then you're golden.

Comments about Maxxis Ardent Folding Tire:

This tire came on my AM bike that I got at the beginning if the year. They have been great tires, they roll fast, have good side bite, and have good tread wear. The only downside is that they are not good in mud or on slippery rocks/roots. I to this day have not had a tire that would do it all though for AM/XC riding though.

Comments about Maxxis Ardent Folding Tire:

After riding the Minions for a couple of seasons I thought I would try something else for my DH/Freeriding so I purchased the Maxxis Ardent in a 2.6. I initially thought it would be to fat/wide but turns out that it had a very similar feel to the 2.5 Minions.
The first thing I noticed is that the Ardent is that although it still offers the stickiness required for DH and freeriding this tire does not wear down as fast as the Sticky Rubber Minions. This tire allows you to run all season and still have some tread remain at the end of the season. This tire also roles quite a bit faster and there is a lot less rolling resistance.
I've had some rough landings on this tire and it has held up strong with no pinch flats and any issues with bead coming off the rim.

Overall I would recommend this tire as it is very versatile and durable for all types of riding.

Comments about Maxxis Ardent Folding Tire:

I am running a 2.4 Ardent up front with a 2.25 in the rear. I love these tires. They roll well, hook up in just about anything when dry and are easy to mount and convert to tubeless.

They do not perform well in mud but unless a tire is mud specific, I htink this applies across the board.

Comments about Maxxis Ardent Folding Tire:

I use these tyres exclusively these days. When I find them cheap, I buy up - I have 3 spares at the moment.
Good volume for a 2.25 tyre, good puncture protection although the sidewalls can tear easily on sharp rocks.
I run the standard non-UST tubeless with just some sealant and they are fine.
I've tried heaps of tyres and will keep using these.

excellent tire. bike came w/ these: 2.4 front, 2.25 rear both w/ the exo sidewall. excellent all around tire, predictable, good traction, not too slow as some tires w/ alot of grip can be. recommended. getting more once my current set is toast.
