We have an Ibis road...
We have an Ibis road tandem that we were going to take to SE Asia for a 4 month, 6000km self supported tour. This setup with bike and people is about 400lbs and KILLS tires, especially the rear. On the last tour to Italy we used Specialized Armadillo 28x700 tires and shredded the rear in 800km and it was a real hassle finding good bigger size tour tires on route. So this time tire selection was critical since Cambodia is going to be a tad harder to find tires should they fail. So the choice came down to Schwalbe Marathon Plus that everybody raves about or the Maxxis Overdrive. I couldn't get the Schwalbes in the size I wanted from the local shops so I went for the Maxxis. Well 6000km later the tires held up fantastic. The rear is a bit worn but it could probably do another 5000km. The front hardly looks worn. We rode primarily paved roads though sometimes not in very good shape and sometimes dirt. Having the 38c was a great choice: protected the rims better and softened the ride even though we had them at the max 75lbs pressure. Wouldn't hesitate to use them again. Thanks Maxxis.

Great Tire
Got a price match on them, so that made the price better.
Came in a large box because they are not folding tires.

PROS: Reflective, No Puntures, Some Bump Asorbtion, Silent, cheap, Rolls well, Long Lasting

CONS: Poor Grip On Sand Grass, Wire Bead, Rough Ride Off Road

BEST USES: city use, Commuting, Running About

Commute 8mi/dy...
Commute 8mi/dy 5dy/wk rain or shine. Bad hydroplaning experience w/ other urban tires. Thank God for reflexes. Can ride with confidence any conditions. Have yet to push grip to the limit on a curve. Feels like they bite concrete like cleats on turf. They perform as expected - superb wet/dry grip, flat protection, fast shoes

Great Tires
Very Nice tires I put these on my trek 4500 to make it more suitable for the street. I am very impressed. Even though they are at 50PSI the ride is still incredibly smooth. So far they have taking bad hits on curbs and about 2 foot drops. I am a 6foot 205lb rider

PROS: Ultra tough, Excellent Grip, Very Comfortable Ride

CONS: none at this time

BEST USES: Slight offroad, Street riding

Tough tyre with good grip
An excellent street tyre, I ride through the Sydney Australia CBD, on street, off street over curbs ands paths, pulled 300 peices of glass out one of the tyres after a New Years Eve ride and no flats, does not slip on normal surfaces wet or dry, (Poliished wet marble and mossy paths excepted)

Very Smooth
This is a great tire for the money. I had been using mountain bike tires on the road and never knew what I was missing until I put these tires on. The bike glides down the road.

PROS: Low Rolling Resistance, Good road traction

CONS: Doesn't absorb bumps

Bought for my Surly Cross Check commuter...
Got this for my new commuter, so far so good, like reflector in the sidewall and the tread on it, feel like it grips better whipping around turns and dat. Plus, the price was right as I was attempting to save money where I could and spend it where it is needed.

PROS: Good Tread, Attractive Design, Reflector In Sidewall

Excellent urban tire...
Excellent urban tire with superb manners. Great for a beginning rider or for experienced riding in traffic because they behave smoothly and predictably both when going straight and in all sorts of turns. There are no tricky angles or slippery spots as are encountered with some tires. They also brake well in wet or dry conditions. The only thing that would improve them is a bigger size. There's no substitute for contact area when emergency braking and more volume allows lower pressures and a smoother ride on rough streets and trails.
