very tough street tire with thick rubber on both tread and sidewall, excelent for commuting and cruizing on pavement.they will last foever and not give you any trouble at all.
rubber is heavy and these tires have lots of it,the weight is very noticeable when accelerating braking and cornering.
if you are looking for a performance tire for racing,stunts/tricks or skate park you may want to look at the intense mk2,that weigh less than half what these do and have better grip but the thin soft rubber of the mk2 also make them prone to punctures and sidewall damage and they dont last very long.
the hookworms are super tough and will get you home every time for many years but you proberbly wont win any races on these but after you've destroyed your race tires these will still be there.

I'd been eying these for a while and found an excuse to pull the trigger while building up an urban banger. Mounted the pair of 26x2.5 Hookworms tubeless on Mavic 823, and the combo weighs more than my tubed 29" Nevegal + 719 (same hubs)! They're seriously tough, but that durability comes with noteworthy mass.

Comments about Maxxis Hookworm Tire:
Replacement 16" tire for my B.O.B. trailer. This tire is made of a much higher quality than I would expect for something this small. After several hundred miles with at least 60 pounds of weight in the trailer, the tire is showing very little wear. I would definitely recommend this for a kid's bike over a cheaper tire which most likely isn't made as well and won't last as long.

Comments about Maxxis Hookworm Tire:
Put these tires on both my Bianchi single speed bicycles, about nine years ago. They are still with me and I have enjoyed every aspect of the tire. Great tire! I commute, and my bicycles are strictly for transportation.
Comments about Maxxis Hookworm Tire:
A lot of grip. Good for street and park.

Comments about Maxxis Hookworm Tire:
I'm running a set of these 20" hookworms on my daughter's burley encore. They are wider and more stable on gravel or loose material and with the higher pressure they roll much smoother on paved trails. Incredible tires, I highly recommend them!

Comments about Maxxis Hookworm Tire:
I put in at least 12 miles a day with my work commute and many more on the weekends. I've been doing the commute for over seven years and have tried a variety of different tires. The Hookworms stick to the road better than any other I've ever used over that time. Great in corners with the tread wrapping all the way up the sidewalls. They roll very smooth and fast and take the potholes, eight inch curbs and various other obstacles with a hitch. I ride in all conditions year around, deal with heavy traffic daily, and depend upon a reliable tire to keep me on track when things get hairy. Hookworms do the job!

Comments about Maxxis Hookworm Tire:
Great on asphalt not so hot off road but that should be obvious. The tires roll very fast and smooth like a luxury vehicle. They almost look like a motorcycle tire. You pay a weight penalty tho you can really feel the difference. These tires are totally worth it if you ride alot of asphalt, stairs , curbs etc. I'm sure all the added rubber will help protect your rims and they look great!
Comments about Maxxis Hookworm Tire:
Im getting a second tire soon.

These fit on my old frame nicely. I run them at 60psi. They hug the road nicely! I had a hard time choosing between these and the holy rollers but I'm glad I went with these!
