I have a set of Krylion carbon 23C that I put on a custom wheelset at the recommendation of my wheelbuilder. Even though he built me a high end wheelset, he said that these would be the best tires despite my willingness to spend more. Along with a set of superlight tubes, these tires now have something along the order of four thousand miles on them. And (no lie), I have not yet had a flat. It's important for me to say that I live and ride in New York City. I wish I could say that these are the best tires I've ever had but honestly, they haven't given me the chance to compare them to anything else because they're the only tires I've ever had. And again, I have never had a flat on these.Ride hardRide safeHelp othersProtect the environment

Lower profile than my previous 23's, but still seem to be more durable. I've only one or two hundred miles on them, but they feel very tough so far.

The tires that these replaced were quite a bit looser so that I could remove or install them without any levers, so I am a bit spoiled. I needed one lever to install the Krylions, and pinched two tubes in the process, something I haven't done in years. I would not want to change a tube with these tires on the side of the road.

No cuts, light and feels fast...

By wibbs

from Riverside, CA

Pros

  • Durable Lightweight
  • Holds up well

Cons

  • Harder to install

Best Uses

  • Commuting
  • Training

Commuting to and from work in morning traffic and debris, I always get cuts in my tires. This tire has been the exception. Ridden for 3 weeks and not a mark on it. Very durable and lightweight but still stron and seems like it will last a long time. The tire also feel faster than what I was riding (same size).

Michelin Krylion Carbon Tires

Pros

  • Great tires

Cons

  • none

Best Uses

  • Training or Touring

I have been using these tires for several years now and have found them to be excellent overall. I have had no issues with them whatsoever. I have read that some think that these tires wear out too fast, but I have not found that to be the case. I replace mine 2X/year after 2500 miles. Very satisfied since I have only had 1 flat since using these tires. Would highly recommend.

Tough and Reliable Tire

By Lenrod-t

from Perry, GA

Verified Buyer

Pros

  • Durable
  • Good grip
  • Tough

Cons

  • Not spectacular when wet

Best Uses

  • Training

I've used cheaper and lighter tires for my daily rides, but these beat most others. The center contact area wears well and as yet I've never had a flat. They are a little dicey in the rain, especially on road striping, which I attribute to firmer rubber compounds in the tread area.

Have loved these skins since I first discovered them in 2009. After wearing holes through several sets of C*nti GP 4000s my LBS suggested these. Lots of miles on both paved and unpaved roadways without issues. I honestly can't believe the durability I have seen with them. They do square off after a while, but still haven't flatted on them once. Love the color options, adds some style to my roadie not just plain old black like so many others.

      Excellent product

      By KDub

I changed to the Krylion from the Conti GP4000. Was pleased with the performance of the Conti's but my riding buddy talked me into a pair of the Krylions. The Krylions have proven to be as good or better in all respects and I'm happy I made the switch. The ride quality, grip (all conditions), flat prevention, wear and build quality are all excellent. Would definitely recommend them to others.
