Comments about Pearl Izumi Womens X-Alp Enduro Iii Shoe:
Bought these after reading lots of great reviews of them - I ride a lot of remote trails so I need a shoe that will pedal well, stay comfy all day and is not afraid of getting wet or slippery on rocks. These shoes feel quite tight on the feet at first, so I wore them around off the bike for a few days which helped a lot. Went riding on the third day and these were super comfy both on and off the bike. These shoes are noticeably heavier than a lot of other MTB shoes - the treads are rugged like a hiking boot - so if you are worried about weight then take this into consideration. As with my old shimano shoes, these shoes have issues with Crank Bros cleats - it seems the tread is just too deep and the cleat attachment platform just too narrow to get clipped in reliably - Will try these out with SPDs and hopefully this will improve! All in all, a comfy shoe which I expect is going to be more than adequate for my hike-a-bike adventures!
