Skate-shoe type styling, but with a sole that accepts SPD clipless cleats. They offer an overstrap with laces underneath so you can dial in the fit, and the strap keeps the laces out of harms way.
  • Non-marking gum rubber outsole is grippy and works great with platform or clipless pedals
  • Accept any SPD-type cleat (Shimano, Crank Bros Eggbeater, Time ATAC, etc)

Comments about Sixsixone Filter SPD Shoe:

Sizing appeared a little small out of box, but they are true to size after a couple rides. SPD cutout in sole is a little smaller than Shimano, making spd engagement a little harder than I would like (disengagement is only slightly harder than with Shimano shoes, I loosened the tension on the pedals to compensate). Ankle support is good for on bike, but rubs a little when walking. Velcro closure is just OK. A very good shoe overall. Am I the only one who wants more options for semi-stylish SPD shoes that look like shoes for a decent price (60-80ish retail) out there?

          • Platform Pedals Too

Comments about Sixsixone Filter SPD Shoe:

These shoes immediately felt more solid than a typical skateboard shoe, with a very well padded but fixed base. Even for riding traditional platform pedals, they would surely offer more precise pedal control / feedback. As a result, they don't flex in the toe like a normal shoe.

I ride clipless / cleated, and they work perfect. No blisters so far. They don't look as goofy as many of the other options out there.

The only "problem" I had was before ordering, I couldn't really tell how they handled the cleat. Pictures were hard to find of that part. From the ones I could find, it seemed that the cleat was recessed and had a cover that could go over it for normal use. This is not the case. They arrive as normal shoes and you must cut out part of the tread to reveal the cleat mount. The piece removed is trash and cannot be reinserted. The cleat is recessed, but walking around in it will still click occasionally, and make an unnerving sound when grinding against small rocks/sand.

Comments about Sixsixone Filter SPD Shoe:

Great pair of shoes for the money. Sturdy construction and flat, grippy sole. The ankle strap is good for extra support, but is poorly positioned in relation to the laces (if you want to lace up all the way to the top).

Comments about Sixsixone Filter SPD Shoe:

I purchased these shoes for hardcourt bike polo. They've been wonderful so far! The recessed cleat eliminates the click clack and odd ramping foot posture, skate shoe-like feel, strong yet comfortable sole and reliable lace/velcro closure makes for a comfortable experience both on and off the bike. Not to mention the absolutely affordable price :D
Downside: Bulkier than a normal road or mountain shoe.
