If it's got a hex head, this tool can probably deal with it. The Alien XS is great for minor adjustments and repairs while you're out on your ride; adjusting your seatpost, saddle position, brakes, levers, stem, and other small items. Combined with a set of tire levers, this tool should be able to get you on your way home from most situations. Some riders might want to spring for the even more comprehensive Alien II, but I chose this tool for its price. The chain tool is really well thought out as well.
The tool comes with its own pouch, which has space for the tool itself, and an elastic pouch for the chain tool. The pouch has a hefty belt clip on it, but I stuff it it in my saddle bag.

This was my first multitool, and I really liked the design. It had just about all the tools I needed for my road bike (an old 10 speed, at the time). However, the tool broke on my with less than a year of use. I wish it had been more durable.

This is the mutli tool to carry when you're on a longer ride or by yourself and you may have to actually fix your bike, not just tighten or adjust something.
It is a little large for a side pocket I feel as it is thick. If you have cargo pockets it isnt too annoying or throw it in your camel back is what I do. Great two pice design in case you need to hold one side and undo something with the otherside.
I have yet to find something that it has not fit on any of my bikes or trail mates bikes either.
It looks a bit plasticy but has never felt like it will fail.
