Niner EMD 9 1 Star Build

The EMD 9 (Eat My Dust) might be the most affordable Niner package available, but it's nothing short of a willing and able bike that's ready to unlock the door to the Niner lifestyle. Niner started 2015 with a clean slate, choosing hydroformed 7005 aluminum tubing versus the 6000-series alloy of past. This simple yet elegant design upgrade allows for some vertical rear wheel compliance, while maintaining drivetrain rigidity and efficiency for both a faster and suppler ride. Additionally, 2015's EMD 9 sees routing for a stealth dropper post.

The frame it is then completed with same level of detail you have come to expect from Niner, including the tapered headtube, stainless steel head badge, and lust-worthy finish. The headtube, disc brake mount tabs and bottom bracket are all reamed and faced to ensure that not even a speck of paint overspray will hinder the ride quality. Niner poured their heart and soul into this frame, as much as any other, and created a fun, fast and comfortable ride anyone.

The Niner EMD 9 Deore Bike features an impressive component spec that's ready to deliver year-round fun. RockShox is well known within the industry for producing high end suspension components that are easy to setup and use. Therefore, it was only logical that Niner chose to mount a RockShox suspension fork to this XC trail-horse. The RockShox Recon Silver Solo Air fork features 100mm of smooth, plush suspension travel that'll eat up the small bumps before they can slow you down. The 15mm axle and tapered steerer tube ensure the front end remains stiff, helping to maintain precise steering winding single track and tight hairpins.

The Shimano Deore drivetrain benefits from trickle-down technology, offering top-tier technology features at a friendlier price point. From the M610 trigger shifters all the way to the M615 rear derailleur, the Shimano Deore 10 speed drivetrain provides smooth, accurate, and fast shifting. Niner's house-branded alloy wheels are sturdily-built to take a beating without anchoring you down, while its signature alloy cockpit arrangement rounds out the build, delivering a perfect blend of quality, strength, and performance.
