Very Bright!
I am doing all my riding at night so want to be seen and this light seemed like it would do that better than my very old Vista light.

The light is very bright and no one is running my any closer than I have every been run in the day and overall I am getting more room than when day riding.

The mounting clamp is not great. The arm that the light clips to is held by the same bolt that tightens the clamp to the seat. My old vista light had two seperate screws for this. With the one bolt system if you don't have the bolt VERY tight when you go over a bump the weight of the light causes the arm to swing down and the light ends up pointing at your back wheel rather than behind you. I tightened it with a pair of pliers, rather than just hand tight and that seems to have fixed it.

Some others mentioned the light coming out of the bracket it you hit a big bump, which I could see happening. I used a small zip tie to secure the light so this has not been a problem.

A great light, the clamp just takes some jury rigging to be reliable.

Almost ideal
The light is very visible and very good both night and day.
My only dissatisfaction with with the mount.
Although the seat post attachment is very good and very secure, the light itself clips onto a short arm that swivels vertically on a screw.
Usually this is fine, but if the ride is bumpy the light can end up pointing downward, towards the tire, instead of horizontally behind you.

Now, the light is so bright that at night this might not matter. The blinking light will still be very visible. But during the day, the light pointing downward might be less visible.

The solution is to tighten that screw a lot, but I don't trust that in the long run. Sooner or later the threads will wear out on the plastic arm that the screw goes through, and the light won't stay up at all.
I've only had it one month and so far so good.

Devil in the Details
So, the light was mounted on a road commuter and saw year round day and night use. The light held up to light rain and seemed very water resistant. However, the plastic clip broke apart after less than one year, most likely due to road vibration. If I were given this product as a gift, I would take it off the bicycle until it was dark enough to actually use. Wish the clip were more durable, otherwise it worked well.

PROS: Weather resistant, Very bright

CONS: Poor quality clip

Not up to NiteRider's standards.
I generally really like NiteRider products. So I'm extra disappointed when one of those products does not live up to my high expectations.

This is a good, decently bright light which uses normal AAA batteries. Plus, the mount can be rotated to allow a vertical or horizontal placement. (And it is symmetrical so it looks equally good in either position.) Those are the good points.

On the bad side, the light is constantly popping out of the bracket (luckily not while riding, but just getting accidentally hit on things when locking it up or putting it on a bike rack or whathaveyou). The seal which prevents water from getting into the body of the light is problematic. It is made of soft rubber/silicone and adheres equally poorly to both the body and the lens of the light. This means it's pretty easy to get it detached entirely. It takes a lot of poking at it with fingernails/screwdrivers to get it back on. And even then, it probably didn't seat properly. Which means one or more of the following problems: you can't really seal the light properly against water, you can't close it at all, you can close it but the button which turns on the light doesn't function or is hard to make function because the tolerances are so tight.

Oh well.

PROS: Verticalhorizontal Mount, Bright

CONS: Flimsy Mount, Flimsy Waterseal, Pain To Change Batteries
