So far I have just tried the Cran-Razz flavor, but I find it very yummy. I kept me from running out of energy and it tasted great, it was very refreshing. I would eat them even if I had no use for them, but just because they are yum!
I like these, they taste like the fruit snacks I ate all the time when I was a kid. All flavors. I like strawberry and orange the best.The problem is, looking at the nutrition information and the ingredients, it looks like the ingredients are pretty bare bones and nothing artificial is added, nothing! No extra vitamins, no extra sugar, no extra performance enhancing ingredients.With that said, I bought 5 of these and went on pretty long rides. Ate these and the only thing I noticed is it keeps my hunger down. Might as well eat barney fruit snacks -- I'm sure there's not much a difference.
I like 'em, they don't have any wierd chemicals and they taste great (your mileage may vary on the taste of course!).
I'm not sure why they work but they do. Maybe they just taste good and it mentally makes me feel energenic, maybe I feel like I stay hydrated longer, or maybe they really do give me energy. A lot of sports drinks and bars upset my stomach while on a ride and the gels only give me a quick boost and leave me hungry on longer rides. Finally a product that kills the hunger without sitting in my belly like a hunk of wood.
Being an avid triathlete I have tried the gamut of fuel products during race season. This is the ONLY thing that dosen't cause MAJOR stomach upset when I get off the bike for the run. They noticeably help to keep me hydrated and happy. I stick a package of these in the top of my aero bottle and munch them during the ride.
