The Rogue's rugged tread pattern combines maximum traction with the ultimate in shock absorption, for a smooth ride over the roughest of terrain. Strategically placed grooves channel away water for positive control in all weather conditions. The Ruffian is a low-profile knurled grip perfect for those looking for extra control through rough sections. Comments about Odi Lock-On Grips For Twist Shift System:
Unless you have gigantic hands these are too wide. I'm not sure if ODI ever tried these with twist shifters. with the lock rings these are 95mm wide. A Sram X0 twist shifter is 70mm wide. So it's 165mm to your brake lever mount. That's pretty far. I like the option of two finger braking and since most brake levers are about 75mm long you have to reach in to find the brake lever. This puts grip all your controls way inside the handlebars just like regular grips. Being too wide you also have to move your hand placement to actuate the shifter. The grips are really well made and comfortable. The lock rings work great. Using an exacto knife and a red hot utility knife I was able to decrease the grip size to 85mm. I was able to cut a new tab for the lock ring. The new tab does not work as well as the factory tab but does hold. Combined with the factory tab on the uncut side the grip is rock solid on the bars. The inside of my hand now just wraps around the end of the twist shifter so I don't have to move my hand inside to shift but I don't have so much grip on the shifter that a big hit will cause an accidental shift. The brake levers are now right where they need to be for 1 or 2 finger braking. I bought the Rogue grips and I like the bigger grip area they provide. I've tried several twist grips and they're all too large. I'm 6' tall and have normal man hands. So I would not recomend them unless your willing to modify them. Of course if you do that you could start off with any size grip. The ODI locks are great though.

Comments about Odi Lock-On Grips For Twist Shift System:
I added a Sturmey-Archer three speed hub to my commuting bike, and it came with a twist shifter. I initially used a regular lock on grip that I cut down to the right length necessitated by the twist shifter, but it didn't line up right.
This did the trick though! Plus I used a regular length one on the left side so they match!

Comments about Odi Lock-On Grips For Twist Shift System:
I have been mountain biking since 1986. And, I have been using gripshift since they were introduced in the early 90's. It's very difficult to find a good short style grip that is compatable with gripshift and will not slip. The ODI lock on grips are the best grips that I have ever used. And trust me, I have just about used them all. Buy, install, hammer and enjoy.

Comments about Odi Lock-On Grips For Twist Shift System:
I bought these because I needed some grips to go with some twist shifters and these were the best option available. They installed easily and really stay put. There is nothing worse than loose grips. The only downside is they may be a little heavy if you're concerned about weight.
Comments about Odi Lock-On Grips For Twist Shift System:
Ordered them, waited. Put them on, test ride. awesome. can't complain about anything at all. solid grip, so solid you'll take it for granted and CAN safely. GET THIS PRODUCT!!
Comments about Odi Lock-On Grips For Twist Shift System:
Just what I was looking for. When the bike goes down only the metal ring hits the ground, instead of a grip that will tear.
