I first tried this tyre 20 years ago. Amazing. A legend in the 90s it was. Bought it again recently to see how it would fare against todays' tyres. It so put away all the competition! Nothing grips better than this classic! Mad grip! That's what it is. My guess is it's down to the tread design and how tha dart shaped knobs spread out and provide extreme grip when cornering. The only downside is I wish it were available as a 2.5" or 2.3" at least. Amazing. What are you waiting for? Get one now if XC and trailing is your thing!

it was on sale so i bought it. installed on the front. i was happy with how much faster i can go due its low rolling resistance until summer came and the trail got really dry and loose. it became unpredictable. you just couldn't tell when it's going to grip or let go on turns even at high or low pressures. sticking with fire cx pros for front and rear. i should have paid attention to the product description that says it is designed for hardpack. you can use it but not for intermediate xc or downhill riding.

Very good front-specific tire. Sheds mud and corners well. Wear is also good. This is my second set, switched back to the Dart/Smoke combo after 5-6 years on Fire XCs. No complaints.
