Great tire for the price.
They are the only 27" X 1" tire on the market. They resist cuts and punctures better than the other tires I have used.
I've been using the PR-Tourgard kevlar for a couple years. The price is right and I usually get at least 2K miles out of them under rough conditions. Tires are fat enough to mitigate small bumps and chip-sealed roads.
It's a nice tire but doesn't look cosmetically correct on my road bike. They are 27 x 1 inch. I measured them against my 27 x 3/4 inch Wolber 20 tires but, they don't compare in any respects to my 30+ year old Wolbers. They take ample pressure (115 psi) and run quite smoothly. But they're big and cluncky by comparison. Somewhat more road resistance. And of course, heavier. I ride a mid 1970's Zeus Road Bike and only wish there were actually something out there comparable to those Wolbers. Since to my knowledge, there isn't, I've had to settle for these.
I replaced the original tires on my Schwinn Superior with the Pasela's for daily riding. The tan sidewalls of the tire look appropriate for the older bikes. I did not buy the Tourguard, but rather the standard tire with wire bead. I was dissapointed the tread pattern is different than pictured, these look like a hybrid or mild offroad tire, not the road pattern pictured. The tires seem to have a little more rolling resistance than my old tires, and a little noisier, but still a good value. I was surprised to see this tire is Made In Japan! Overall I am satisfied with this product, I would have liked to have seen a picture of the tread pattern on this tire before I bought it, I might have bought something else, JensonUSA get on this!
A very good tire at a great price. Great replacement tire for the nearly extinct OE Schwinn Puff 27 x 1 1/4. The tread pattern and overall appearance is very similar and the feel is pretty much the same but with less rolling resistance and better traction.
Easy rolling, decent wearing, excellent value for the price - Good for century rides, touring, and commuting. I'll keep buying them!
