Designed to ensure a straight, clean cut on threadless forks, the SG-6 fits 1", 1-1/8" and 1-1/4" forks. A clean, straight cut is critical to ensure a properly adjusted threadless headset! Simply slide the guide onto any threadless fork, clamp it down, and cut using the narrow cutting slot. Heat treated for long life. For threaded forks, use SG-5 Guide Set which cleans the threads after cutting.

Comments about Park Tool Park SG-6 Threadless Saw Guide:

I've cut a lot of steerer tubes and this is the best/most precise tool for the job. Was worried about how it clamps but the actual clamp mechanism is bent to the curvature of the tube and is wide enough to not dent/mar it when clamped tight = no damage. Super happy with the results and can take off very small sections to fine-tune the length as needed.

Comments about Park Tool Park SG-6 Threadless Saw Guide:

The tool is great-easy to use and guides the saw very easily as you cut.
My complaint is that it is difficult to see the line you mark on the steerer tube to make the cut. Other than that its fine. And it is expensive for something you use once.

I cut a Niner RDO carbon 29er fork steerer.

    Does the job

Comments about Park Tool Park SG-6 Threadless Saw Guide:

Can be used to cut a wide variety of things including seat posts and handle bars. Out of the box a carbon fiber cutting blade does not fit through the slot, but because you are able to disassemble the guide I was able to add two thin washers over the bolt. It does take a minute though, so if you're cutting things all day long that are both aluminum and carbon it could become an annoyance adding and removing spacers. For the home shop it's perfect.

    GREAT Tool for cutting handlebars!

Comments about Park Tool Park SG-6 Threadless Saw Guide:

I wanted to cut my 740mm carbon handlebars down to 710mm. This tool works PERFECTLY for such a task and gives a nice clean end to your handlebar (vs manually "eyeing" it in a vice). Just remember to use a 30 tooth hacksaw (not 24 tooth) and the cut will be nice and clean!

Comments about Park Tool Park SG-6 Threadless Saw Guide:

Purchased for my first attempt at a bike build up and used on a Rockshox Pike. The guide took the worry out of ensuring I had a straight cut on the fork steerer tube. Guide clamped down snuggly and ensured the hacksaw cut straight, both horizontally as well as vertically. The guide seems well built and I expect it to last my lifetime.

Comments about Park Tool Park SG-6 Threadless Saw Guide:

This guide does an excellent job keeping your cuts straight. If you're only going to cut a steerer tube once or twice an industrious person can come up with a DIY solution, but if you're cutting down forks on a regular basis and time is an issue this is the tool for the job. Cutting with a saw does a much cleaner cut than using a pipe cutter which can flare the tube.
