This is a good stand if you do not have a ton of room for a dedicated stand with floor plate. It folds up fairly compact, is made of robust materials, and has a good clamping mechanism (which is fully rebuild-able).
My only gripes with the stand is that the upper part of the mast (and the stand in general) has a tendency to swing left and right when you put down large amounts of torque on the bike. This is, unfortunately, a problem with the type of stand (folding). The other problem? With a lot of use, the c-clip that keeps the jaws spread on the crank mechanism will loosen and your jaws will want to close together. It is not the end of the world, but is irritating.
Bottom line? If you can spring the extra money, and have the room for, a floor/post mounted workstand, go for it, as they are usually easier to work with. If, however, space is at a premium, this is an excellent alternative.

What can I say, received this as a gift and as with all my stuff from Park Tool I love it. Very sturdy, and the clamp is easy to use an works great with my oblong frame tubing. Definitely worth the extra money I've used less expensive stands over the years and they just do not compare.

Man, oh man. This stand changed how I wrench for the better. It is SO much easier to work on my bikes with this stand (which I received as a gift from my wife). The clamp is very firm and adjustable. I love that it is collapsable, since I need to move it around frequently and since it makes it easy to take on biking road trips. It's sturdy and easy to use. You won't regret buying it.

The stand is fairly stable,assembles easy and folds even better. For me the mast could be a little taller, but it's tall enough for the average guy. Sure beats getting on my knees. Overall a very good product.

I'm very happy I purchased this product. It is extremely solid and versatile. No more crouching over or turning my bike upside down to do repairs. It folds up nicely for storage and transport and can be put in action in less than a minute when you want to use it. It's a little heavy to keep folding up and moving around so it's best if you can leave it in one place. But either way you'll have a very nice repair stand that will last for life. I'm looking forward to taking it to cyclocross races for some post-race maintenance and cleaning. One thing.. The directions were not that helpful but you can easily assemble it by looking at the picture on the box. Assembly took 20 minutes and all tools were included.

This is an indispensable utlity to have. It makes working on bikes much easier. Its durability and strength are well worth its cost; even holding my very heavy MTB fitted with an electric motor wheel, rear rack and with me wrenching away on the rear wheel, the stand remained very stable. Since it can fold up, it makes storing much easier. Park Tool really hit the mark with this product.
