These are the second pair of Egg Beater 3's I've purchased in the last six months...The first pair went on my winter beater for use in snow and this pair I purchased for my cyclocross bike to use in a local spring classic that was a mudbath...They work exceptionally well in the mud...While other people were struggling to get in and out of their pedals (especially Shimano pedal users), I was entering and exiting with relative ease...The only issues I've had with both pairs of Egg Beaters are the "stainless" steel parts of the pedals have started to rust and they come from the factory under-greased and both pairs of pedals had play in the bearings right from the factory...Since I purchased my first pair from a Canadian distributor late last year and this pair from Jenson, an American company, it can be concluded that this probably isn't an anomoly in manufacturing one lot of pedals but rather it's more likely that this is how all their pedals are [*]..Be sure to check and adjust the bearings before you use them and to spray a thin coating of grease on them to avoid rust...

I have ridden these pedals since '96 when they were brand new. I have 7 pairs on all of my bikes. I have not had a bad experience with them yet. They are super easy to get in and out of. The self lubricating brass cleats make them almost trouble free. They are super easy to service when they do need new bearings or lubrication. Simple and open so there are no tricky guesses about what is going on inside the cleat mechanism and no trouble shedding mud of all types, from Mississippi sludge to the thick brick clay of the desert southwest, they just clear it all out with little or no hesitation. When I get a new bike, I will be getting pair number 8 of these pedals. I have ridden them while living in D.C., Baltimore, Durango, Albuquerque, Craig and Steamboat springs. Always happy to be riding with them.

I have a set of these on my Pinarello Prince. I switched from a pair of Shimano pedals to try something different. I am extremely pleased with them.

To be honest when i first bought these pedals I only bought them to not have a shimano pedal just to try something different. After riding them they were amazing. As far as engagment and disengagment alot easier to get used to. The cleats can adjust to two different floats which is nice for rider style and preferrance. Also the strength of these pedals are nice. I have smashed the ears of the pedals agasint rocks countless times and have not had a issue. My pedals are coming on 1.5 yrs old still run smooth and no issues.

I have Egg Beaters on my road and mountain bikes. I love the feel, the weight and the ease of use. Ease to clean and maintain. Works well in muddy conditions, no issues after several years of use. Also easy to rebuild with kit. I have not complaints about them at all. I have tried other products and love the Egg Beaters.

Very easy to get in and out, very comfortable pedals and very light as well. I used to have shimano XT's on my bike so it took a couple of days to get used to them but now I would not go back to the shimanos.
Highly recommended for cross country and trail riding.

I recently installed these on my 2012 Trek Mamba and I couldn't be happier. They are compact, light and shed mud\muck very well. These pedals are made to be rebuildable which is also nice. I also appreciate the feature of dual-sided entry. It reduces the time searching for the enagagement as with other pedal models. Highly recommended!
