Cyclops has created the lightest powermeter in the PowerTap G3 Hub. First developed in 2006, the Cyclops PowerTap hubs have been evolving and improving ever since becoming lighter, stiffer, and ANT+ compatible!
Accurate power measuring is crucial and the Cyclops PowerTap G3 is accurate to within ± 1.5%. Now you can track your power in real time with Joule or your favorite ANT+ compatible computer wirelessly. Being ANT + compatible allows you to use any computer that is ANT+ capable to see your power readings in real time. With all of this information at your fingertips, you can maximize your training and have your most successful season ever! More improvements to the PowerTap G3 are the new wider flange that leads to a stiffer wheel. The smaller overall profile of the hub also keeps the wheel looking sleeker and doesn’t scream to the world that you are using a powermeter. Weight has always been an issue, so PowerTap has brought the weight down to 325 grams. This will allow you to build a wheelset that will compare favorable to many traditional wheels. A Shimano Ultegra rear hub weighs about 353 grams for comparison. One other improvement has been to move the electronics to the end of the freehub. In the event of a failure, a new endcap with new electronics can be replaced instead of sending in your whole wheel to PowerTap.The PowerTap G3 comes in Shimano/SRAM or Campagnolo compatibility and with 20, 24, 28, and 32 hole drillings.
