I am a 5'6 150 lb woman. Muscular build with broad shoulders. I would usually buy womens gear in a large. I bought the small and this thing is really big. It doesn't look like they make an xs. It's probably great if it fits. Just wanted the other ladies to know before buying. Maybe the youth will work!

Whistler/Stevens Pass Bike Park season pass holder.Devinci Wilson Fox 40.Favorite trail:Dirt Merchant to Lower A-line.I switched from the Race Face chest/back protector to TLD HW protect.Initially concerned about high speed impact until I had a friend crash in same TLD jacket crash at decent speed on Frieght Train onto gravel then rock and trees.Armour held up, distributed load as intended and kept on riding. Some tears in mesh fabric from impact. Mesh fabric can tear in washing machine if against spinner blades.Great adjustability for neck brace.Light enough to not notice you're wearin it.Cooling effect when riding at speed.I have the XL with a 44 chest, not the easiest thing to remove.For the 5% of riding I do in high consequence, full committment,above double black, out of bounds - I'll break out the Race Face.This is perfect for the other 95% of riding.

A lot of reviews out there say to size down on this but I disagree. Buy what you would normally buy in a t-shirt size. Many people talk about how hard it is to remove, and this can be true, but is especially true if you are wearing a size too small. Removable pads are great, and allow for great Leatt-Brace integration. I wear a compression shirt, the BP7850 and a jersey overtop. Then, throw my Leatt over that. Fits perfectly.

the shock doctor is effective, crashed and it protected my chest area, it is a little hard to put on, sometimes i need a little help putting it on and taking it off
