This is a traditionally-sprung rear derailleur designed to complement trigger or twist shifters. Shimano technology keeps your drivetrain shifting nice and smooth.
  • 9 speed compatible (works just dandy with 7 or 8 too)
  • Approximate weight claimed 275 grams
  • Best matched with Shimano Rapidfire trigger shifters, SRAM Rocket or Attack (Shimano-compatible) twist or trigger shifters
  • Will not work with SRAM ESP 1:1 shifters (SRAM x.0, x.9, x.7, etc). It will work with SRAM shifters specifically designed for use with Shimano derailleurs, such as their Attack or Rocket models)

    Perfect Timing

Threw my RD into the spokes (murdered that poor thing) 10 miles out in Utah and quickly learned that I was missing the tools I needed to make the rest of the day not suck. Walked to camp, drove home, and the first thing I did was hit up Jenson.

This was a great find, replaced an Alivio RD. I'm still in the entry-level phase, and wouldn't have spent more than 50$, so this was a very nice sale to find.

Easy to install, tuned in short time. Works great, and looks nicer than the Alivio(of course). It's not in the Shadow line, but it certainly is slimmer than my old one.

If I had money, I'd buy a few more.

I replaced a road derailleur with this one for touring and it works well, allowing a wider range mountain cassette.

        Smooth working gear.

I bought this derailleur to upgrade my older mountainbike. Take the time to read and understand the manual completely and you will not have any problems installling this product. Installed easily and the shifting is smooth.

I couldn't justify the price of a short cage for my budget build, so this went on. It's not XT or XTR, but it's a solid rear der and a decent value if you can catch it on sale. (At MSRP I would look elsewhere.)

I use this in my hard tail MTB. Very quick clean accurate shifts. I couldn't ask for anything more. I use it with an 8 speed cassette and Shimano shifters for cross country rides.

I wrote an earlier review. Purchased several Deore LX rear derailleurs. Used on my mountain bikes for my casual road rides and occasional offroad rides. Magnitudes better than the Tourney TX31 that came on my bikes and seems better than the Alivio M410 RD. With proper maintenance, this RD should last the life of my bikes (20, 14, and 1 year old, respectively).
