Is what it is...the best.

Pros

  • Works every time

Cons

This is a Shimano XTR derailleur. It is what all others are judged against. It does complain a bit under torque shifts, but that is just the weight tradeoff. Ultra durable for the weight. Not fancy just what it is and works every time.

I have been very happy with this derailleur on my Niner hard tail. Primarily trail riding and have experienced no issues with shifting or chain hoping. I would buy it again.

If you're still running 9 speed this one is as good as it gets. Incredible Shimano reliability. Long cage version is great for touring bikes too.

          Great derailleur...

          By Harald

          from Us Navy In Japan

Great derailleur until you start torquing down and mashing pedals uphill in low gear. I will be shifting back to my 06 XTR derailleur and selling this one. Ultimately, I am shifting to a SAINT double ring crankset and short rear derailleur.
