Rocky Mountain has, arguably, some of the nicest mountain bikes in the business. They have taken that same love of high performance purpose driven bicycles and applied it to their road bike line. The Rocky Mountain Solo 70 CR is aimed at the performance rider that is looking for a bike to tackle their local training rides, centuries or grand fondos, and racing.
The heart of the Rocky Mountain Solo 70 CR is the Hi-Modulus Carbon Monocoque frame with carbon dropouts and a performance race geometry. The beauty of carbon fiber is the ability to “tune” the carbon fiber to reach a desired ride quality. The Rocky Mountain Solo 70 CR remains stiff while minimizing the constant road chatter that filters up from the road. The “S” bend seat stays at the rear of the bike help gain more vertical compliance to help reduce the road shock to your body. Carbon fiber is also prevalent on the front end of the bike with carbon fiber fork blades that also dampen road chatter but stay stiff enough to keep you steering true.
Rocky Mountain has provided a smart mix of components that will complement the frame and fork. Shimano provides the trusty Shimano 105 front and rear derailleurs mated to the Shimano 105 brake/shifter levers. This combination has proven to give reliably crisp shifts that are mechanically very close to the more expensive Shimano offerings. With Shimano 105 you may carry a few extra grams and lose that “bling” factor, but it is one of the best values in cycling! The remaining package is full of familiar names like Ritchey, Vittoria, Fulcrum, and FSA.
The Rocky Mountain Solo 70 CR will be right at home wherever you point the wheels. The only thing left to do is to put a leg over it and let the miles melt away.

Each Rocky Mountain complete bike includes free professional assembly by Jenson USA. Prior to shipping your bike, we will completely build and tune it, just as we would for an in-store purchase. Then, we'll partially disassemble and carefully pack your bike for shipping. Please allow 3 business days for the bike build process prior to shipment.
When your bike arrives, it will take about 30 minutes to unpack and perform basic re-assembly tasks (such as installing the front wheel and seatpost) using common hand tools. Jenson USA has created a helpful video (below) to guide you through this process. Stuck? Please call us at (888) 880-3811 and we’ll be happy to help.

Comments about Rocky Mountain Solo 70 CR Bike 2012:
I regret the purchase of the Solo CR 70. I had problems with the front tire or wheel being untrue from the start. The vibrations are so strong that I have to pull the brakes at 25mph for fears that the front tire will come apart. Jenson sent a replacement tire no questions asked, but when this did not solve the problem, now support wants to send the wheel to the manufacturer. This will mean many weeks without a bike for me. Unless I upgrade the wheels at a LBS, put the story into the category "learning experience", and try to forget it quickly. I thought that for almost $1,400 it should be possible to purchase a bike online that I can ride, but apparently not.
In fairness, I do like the frame and the 105 group, but don't buy this setup unless you are prepared to upgrade the wheels.

Comments about Rocky Mountain Solo 70 CR Bike 2012:
I Rode the bike today for the first time and it rode and shifted great. It needs some small adjustments to the seat and handlebars for fit, other than the seat being uncomfortable it was fast and light (18 lbs). The frame is beautiful and looks well built, an excellent platform for upgrades. Looking forward to many miles

Comments about Rocky Mountain Solo 70 CR Bike 2012:
I only have a couple of rides in, but so far the bike is responsive, accelerates well, and is stable descending. I'm very happy with it.

Comments about Rocky Mountain Solo 70 CR Bike 2012:
This bike is awesome! I haven't got to put too many miles on it yet, but I really like it so far. I am just getting back into road biking after a few years off while mountain biking mostly. I had a late 90s Cannondale and this bike is night and day nicer then it is.
