Rockgardn Neo Knee Guards

RockGardn, well known for their protective gear, presents the new NEO knee guard. Rockgardn didnt mess around with the design of the NEO kneeguards. A full Kevlar impact panel resists punctures, tears, and abrasion, covering multiple layers of foam and rigid knee protection. Crazy comfortable, with a virtually non-existent break-in period.
  • Full Kevlar impact panel for maximum resistance to tears and abrasion.
  • Internal, rigid plastic kneecap on top of multiple layers of impact-absorbing EVA foam.
  • Inner and outer knee side padding.
  • Low-profile, "second skin" design resists both downward and rotational forces.
  • Thrash-tested by the Rockgardn Factory Team.
  • Available in S, M, L and XL. Sold in pairs.

Great value, less comfortable
I strap these on when I hit the mountain, which is mostly rocky, rooty singletrack. One wrong line and you slip and you are on the ground. These have saved me once, and given me more confidence knowing that there is something between my important joint and that rock. Protection on the front is second to none (hard shell type), and there are small pads on the top, bottom, and sides that provide just a bit more protection around the joint.

I wouldn't wear these on the eipc rides with tons of pedally stuff, more for shorter rides (<2hrs), as they do get a bit warm in the summer and you start to feel them after a couple of hours. The top strap doesn't do much on my leg (maybe shape of quads?), and the bottom strap holds them firmly in place around the calf, and cinhing them down isn't like applying a tourniquet, as with some other brands. For half the price of some more expensive brands, you get superb protection at a reasonable price, and they don't shift around while riding.

PROS: Comfortable Fit, Good Ventilation, Tough

CONS: Not Adjustable

BEST USES: Short Rides, Mountain Biking

Incredible knee protection and durable material
When I first tried on this product, I ordered a medium considering I'm a tall slender male adult, they seemed a bit clunky at first. Don't let this fool you. They break in after the first ride and provide excellent knee protection, as well as the inside and outside of your knee. This provides impact resistance during riding (inner knees smacking the top tube while thrashing downhill) as well as in the event of a crash. Only needed to test that out once and I'd have to say I'm happy with the results. Material held up very well and zero injury.

Smoth and safety
It´s very similar with RG Dig Knee Pads, but lighter. Good for pedaling but not too much (1hr maximum)

good price/quality relation!

PROS: Lightweight, Comfortable Fit

CONS: No Ventilation

Confortable but could be more flexible
I though that the RG was more flexible since the material tecnology that it has. It was confy but not too ventilated.

It feels very safe and that effectively protects your knee.

PROS: Lightweight, Comfortable Fit

CONS: No Too Flexible

BEST USES: Enduro, All Mountain, Mountain Biking, Downhill

Plenty of protection but a bit bulky.
A good knee pad, especially for the price. I had to return the first set though, they were too small. I used Rockgardn's sizing chart from their website, but found the sizing to be too small when I tried them on. Order a size larger if you have muscular biker legs.

PROS: Thick Kneecap Protection, VALUE FOR THE MONEY, Side Padding

CONS: Sweaty On Even Mild Days, Not very flexible

Well worth it.
Let me start off by saying I have very large quads and calves. Most knee pads I've used/tried on in the past are much too tight around the thigh. Not the case with these ones! They fit very nicely around my thighs/calves and the knee fits like a glove behind the shell. The quality is very nice.

PROS: Great protection, looks cool, Comfortable

CONS: Little expensive

Great product
Bottom line is these things are great.

I tried many different before finding a good fit with these. I had to buy the biggest ones they sell, so a really big guy wouldn´t be able to wear these ( I have big legs, i´m 6-1" and a bit over 200 lbs - but I´m not the biggest guy out there either). Using a bigger size also gives better comfort, and these things could potentially be very warm if you wear them super tight, as they are all material with no venting).
They run hot, but I also live in Spain where summer = heat.

I don´t worry about my patella any more and that is why I bought these pads.

I liked them so much I went and bought rockgardn gloves after these, and I look for other gear by them now.

PROS: Comfortable Padding, Good Feel, Tough, Lightweight, Comfortable Fit

CONS: Sizing Runs Small, No Ventilation, Warm

BEST USES: Mountain Biking, All Mountain Enduro, All-Around, Cold Weather

Plenty of protection but a bit bulky.
They seem to work great for the price, other than being a bit bulky and hot. Not as flexible as I wanted, although they may not be fully broken in yet. I had to return the first set because they were too small...order a size larger for most people. Gonna try the 661 Kyle Strait pads for awhile to see if I like them better.
