I use these for freeride, they're comfortable, a little stiff but you won't notice while riding, overall good quality.

I only wore it once before having to return because I am a Size 38 but this can only fit a Size 34 or 36. That means, I need a Size 40 at least. The Sizing Chart by Rockgardn should be different from MX or DH shorts and that by XC or AM shorts.
Nevertheless, it does gives me the feeling of comfort. It's just too bad I can change to a Size 40.

These are DH/BMX shorts. Too stiff for XC. wallet in rear pocket felt uncomfortable but there are two good sized side pockets for wallet, keys,etc. Material is stiff, less DH than the Troy Lee Sprints but more DH than the Troy Lee Moto shorts. Felt comfortable when jumping and at the bmx track. Quality of shorts looks lower than Troy Lee and Fox products. Inside of the left side pocket stitching came undone after ONE ride. I sewed it back together myself. Hopefully that will be the only time I have to resew something.

These shorts are super durable, my old pair lasted through two seasons of abuse. Definately will stand up to anything you can throw at them, they feel comfy to ride in and are super well made. However, they have been slightly redesinged since I bought my first pair, and now run on the small side. I usually wear a 36 for my pants, but I like to have my bike shorts on the baggy side, so I ordered the 38, only to find them too tight to move in comfortably. I'll be ordering something else, but I am sad I can't stick with these shorts.

I wore these to Black Rock in Falls City, Oregon yesterday. Variety of freeride/singletrack/downhill trails. You have to hike about an hour to get to the top (~1000ft change in elevation). These shorts did perfect. Comfortable both hikes up and and both rides down.I rode with keys in one of the front ziper pockets and couldn't even notice they were thereIf your looking for a quality dh/freeride pair of shorts these are perfect.
