Rocky Mountain designed the FORM Carbon frame with the best carbon specialists in the world, and tests it in-house in Canada. They dont cookie-cutter it either--they use different carbon layups and weaves to fine tune the ride for different applications. For instance, they use 24 ton modulus carbon for Altitude RSL and Vertex RSL 50 and RSL 70 and 40 ton carbon for the Vertex RSL Team.
The Altitude RSL features:
an integrated seat collar clamp
super light rocker links
first of its kind 76-degree seat angle for climbing efficiency
SmoothLink suspension eliminates the dreaded pedal bob
Straight Up geometry for maximum horsepower

Comments about Rocky Mountain Altitude 50 RSL 2010:
This review in not for the expert or from an expert; this is for the Schmo like me stepping up their game from a Rat bike to the Real Deal. Never thought I'd spend this much for a bike... at least not one without an engine, but I'm glad I did. I ride the trails of New Mexico four days a week, which can be mountainous, technical, open and fast, loose, hard, whatever you want. This bike elevated my riding in every way. The faster you ride, the better it performs. For the relentless, withering climbs, it simple puts all your effort to the ground; no energy wasted twisting the frame or heating the drivetrain. For the technical, rocky stuff, point and shoot. The suspension keeps you in contact with the ground like it is supposed to. The brakes are pure art, like Brembo monoblocs on a Ducati. This 20.5" frame is the largest RM makes, but feels a bit cramped for my 36" inseam and lower-primate arms. Not enough to slow me down; I think I can make it work with a little more setup. Raise your game; get this bike.
