These shifters rock. I injured my right thumb last spring and got these to help with some pain I was experiencing using the thumb shifters. These indeed helped with the pain, but also delivered much better performance than my old x.7 shifters. Very impressed.

Getting weaknesses out of the way, the aluminum covers are thin. Use caution when installing as the aluminum covers bend/deform VERY easily. The standard grips are too long. To resolve, cut down a pair of Yeti grips; awesome. The provided instructions lack detail, especially about removing hardware and installing the inner ring for non-oem grips. Online boards provide the answers.
The good - grip shift fans, rejoice. Quick and accurate travel through the cassette. Very crisp movements. Cost is steep but after a few rides performance does skew the cost/benefit analysis in favor of the purchase. The feel is precise and the reviews suggest longevity. Go for it.
4 stars since I believe the unit is overpriced to compensate for R&D, and msrp will drop come 2013. Otherwise, if you're a grip shift fan, it's a must have component.
Bottom line, no regrets.
