Enjoy the same reliable, lightweight performance that SRAMs BlackBox racers enjoy. The 990 cassette has been updated with a trick anodized aluminum lockring and spider that shaves grams over previous setups. The cogs are blast chrome plated for a durable, attractive finish.
Works great with SRAM drivetrains, of course, but also totally compatible with Shimano 9sp equipment, so theyre a great upgrade for any 9 speed bike on the market.

Great cassette, no problems. Doesn't leave horrible bite marks on the hub's aluminum freehub body like my old Shimano cassette did.
Used in conjunction with SRAM PC971 chain, X9 rear shifter and X9 rear derailleur.
I had the 11-32 and it weighed 271g.

Its good, jest not worth the money
I've used it for 2 rides, not so much of a difference between a Sram 950, same shifting quality, your only paying for the weight

Reasonable performer at a great price. Not durable enough for heavy off-road use; will show significant wear in under 1000 trail miles. Perfect, however, for a commuter bike on our steep hills.

Works like a cassette should. I am replacing a Shimano XT (M770) cassette with this one only because I found the SRAM cheaper. It's a cassette and it shifts as it should. Is it better than the Shimano? I would say they are pretty much equal with maybe a slight edge to the Shimano.

Luv this cassette. Upgraded from a 7speed" and i mean wow what a difference. I travel all over the country and when i buy new parts its for need and dependability. And this cassette makes climbing alot easier and smooth shifts up and down no worries . Only thing i dont like is color its sort of a pink tint not red like i wanted but other the that its a great part for the price i paid

Comments about Sram PG-990 9 Speed Cassette 2011:
Nice, lightweight cassette, especially for the sale price. It shifts very well with my X0 derailleur.
Only small knock, the red anodizing on mine was very light, giving it a pinkish color. Not a big deal since you can't really see it, but something to keep in mind if you're trying to match colors.

This cassette replaces a Shimano lower-end cassette that came stock with my ride. I ride a 29er so the jump to a 34 tooth cog has been nice. Shifting has been excellent. I have it paired with an XO derailleur, and XO Grip Shifter. In the two years this combo has been on my bike I have never lost a chain. BTW - I run a Saint Triple Ring Crankset.

Comments about Sram PG-990 9 Speed Cassette 2011:
Ran across one of these on sale and now it's my go to cassette. Light, good looking, and shifts great. I'll be honest, I'm brutal. I shift under heavy load all the time and it always works. I'm using it on both a HT and a FS bike, both with 971 chains, a SLX RD on one bike and X0 on the other.
It does shift with an audible clunk if you care, I happen to like the positive feel.
And I'm not all about the bling but it does look darn good.
At the sale prices you absolutely can't go wrong.
