Fox’s new D.O.S.S. dropper seatpost brings some unique features to the dropper seatpost game. The remote lever for the D.O.S.S. dropper seatpost features two levers in silver and black. The two levers help in dialing in just the right amount of drop on the post and not have to hunt blindly. Push the smaller black lever and drop the post 40mm to the trail setting. Hitting the black lever again raises the saddle back up to the full height (climb). The silver lever allows the dropper post to move throughout the whole range of travel, including stopping at the 40mm Trail position. The three positions correspond to the Climb/Trail/Descend positions used in the new 2013 Fox suspension lineup. When in the middle of tackling the toughest trail, the perfect seat height is just a flip of the lever away. The lever can be positioned above or below the bar and on either the left or right side.
A low amount of air pressure of between 10-25 PSI is required to smoothly and quickly return the Fox D.O.S.S. dropper seatpost to the full length climb setting. The cable moving from the remote to the post can also be attached to either the right or left side of the saddle to keep the cable routing on different frames clean.

Before I got this seatpost, I had a few nasty falls because my seat got in the way going off some drops. This is the perfect solution. Surprisingly, I was most impressed by how much extra power you can get on climbs by raising the seat up just a small amount. The three stop positions work really well.

Very simple to install, no mess bleeding things, strong and almost no play.
After my very bad experience with the Reverb, I decided to give DOSS a chance. I am glad I did! It is very very reliable and smooth to operate. Excellent lever as well. It is ergonomic and simple to operate. So far there is no better post out there.

I have this on a Yeti SB-66 with a float and talas CTD. It's awesome having CTD on all three components. This is my first dropper post so I have no benchmark. I primarily ride technical all-mountain trails but don't like to shuttle or do the lift-service thing too often.
This thing is built burly. The lever is intuitive to use; it only takes a minute to figure it out and get used to. Having a middle position (trail-riding) is fantastic; I use it the most. I thought about going with the Rock Shox Reverb but having an infinite amount of seat heights sounded exhausting. The 1" drop from climb to trail mode makes a big difference.
My only problem with this seatpost is apparently a common occurrence with other brands as well (according to my mechanic): seat has a little bit of lateral play, no matter how tight you fasten it to the seat's rails. This doesn't affect the ride quality but I have to remind myself every time I ride.

I never had any other "on the fly" shock adjustable seat post to compare it too. I choose these because I liked their look, it matches my fox forks and you can't go wrong with fox in my opinion. It's just so much better to ride with an adjustable shock seat post
