Somehow the OEM set seemed to stop much stronger than the retail version that Avid replaced them with. Could it be different formulas of sintered pads OEM'd by Specialized? Again, the contact pad adjuster is nothing but a visual effects. I am much happier with the Elixir R's lever feel and ease of maintenance. Performance and caliper setup is the same between the two. R's cost much better, too.

I have had these in service now for two years on my Epic and I can't say enough about how well they work. I love the ability to adjust them on the fly and the fact they dont ever rub like the cheaper ones that they replaced. Love the ano-red look as well.

I´ve been used it for a year, I feel strong and sure breake, but noisy the rear one. Front break has a progressive break. Installation is simple, but break pads somehow didn´t stay in place.
Calipers work perfect in touch.
Great power and modulation!

Love/Hate. Love them when the bike is standing still or moving. Hate them when I need to slow down. The turkey gobble functions as a bell to warn hikers that I'm coming up behind them.
I haven't used it for so much time. But I guess it looks really good. The only thing I could see is that pads produce some noisy when it touches the rotor. Probably with the dirty it will brush the rotors surface.
I do lots of twisty single track near my home. I've ridden mostly road bikes until the last few years. I have had bb7's before these and still love those brakes too...
Installation was a snap. The calipers are really easy to align. Once setup, after a short break-in ride, I immediately noticed that the stopping power and modulation are above the average 160mm hydraulic brakes I have used in the past. I just love these brakes! The reach and pad adjustments on the levers are just awesome!
Awesome brakes. Best price around right here at JensonUSA. For the money, you might not find a better brake. Although I should probably NOT use them as much to improve my speed!
