I have loved these shoes for what I use them for. I commute with them and I mountain bike frequently with them. They're designed like a hiking shoe with a place for a cleat. I wear these shoes honestly all the time and they still haven't worn down very much. I think any issues with cleats are irrelevant. I use crank brothers and they're just fine. The shoes are great, but for road biking I would recommend a lighter shoe, but for mountain biking, they're perfect!

Great shoe. I have had it for about 3 years and it will probably last another three. Fits great. Showed it to my brother he liked the design also and got a pair. The front of the foot it raised a little to where it can be a little awkward to walk in, and the traction isn't the greatest when wet on rocks etc.

Comments about Shimano MT32L SPD Shoes '09:

I'm a beginning road cyclist and these are my first clipless shoes. Having no knowledge of riding with clipless pedals, I bought these shoes as a low-risk gamble since the price was so good and the design was similar to a regular shoe. I don't have a discerning taste for biking shoes yet but there is nothing bad to say about these shoes. They fit my wide feet well. They don't stink. They are firm enough for down and up strokes. After three months of nearly daily riding they have shown no signs of unusual wear or deterioration. They are also very comfortable for walking, despite the stiff sole. There are no hard spots that dig anywhere into your feet. Overall, it's a fine shoe for non-race riding.

First time ever with "clippy" shoes. Finally caved when knee prob's got too annoying with toe-clips.Nice looking enough shoe. Not rigid, so going to the grocery store won't feel like walking on ice.Not a pretentious looking shoe. I love it.Besides, what can go wrong with [$]?!
