I got a pair of these for Christmas to replace the fifteen year old Fox short I had previously, yes 15 years old. Great shorts! I purchased another pair after the first of the year to alternate for multi-day rides. The first pair had front pocket zippers that opened and closed in opposite directions. Left side opened bottom to top and right side opened top to bottom. I though this was the norm until I go the second pair, which had both sides opening from top to bottom. big deal? well another difference was the liner. the actual chamois was different. both had same material but were articulated differently, also the material was different for the liner shorts. the first pair was more net like where as the second pair was more the traditional Lycra similar to a pair of roadie shorts. I summary, both pair of shorts work well but I am disappointed with the consistency of the product.

On the quality front, Fox does not disappoint. These shorts look to be bombproof. That said, the heavy material (coupled with the fact mine are black) will make these warm during hot days.
I have a few Fox shorts and love them all. But I am disappointed with the lack of belt loops and adjustable waist in these. I order 34 waist Fox shorts all the time and they fit just right. But these are a 34 and are too large. They have an adjustable waist, but then they bunch up on the sides which looks ridiculous...covered by my jersey of course...but the lack of belt still leaves me feeling like they could be pulled down by my 5 year old.

These are great shorts. They are all I wear for Mountain biking. I bought a pair of Rangers after since I liked these so much. The Rangers don't have zipped hand pockets and run much smaller in size though. I also like the mesh chamios in these. Much better breathing. They also clean up nice. Great shorts at a great price, just buy them and be done!
