The Serfas Saddleback men’s shoe was designed with the entry level rider in mind. For those that are making the leap from platform pedals to clipless, the Saddleback shoes are an excellent choice. The three Velcro strap closure ensures a secure fit, while the wider toe box provides comfort to your feet. The stiff composite nylon sole ensures that each stroke is highly efficient and doesn’t create a pressure spot on the ball of your feet. To keep your feet comfortable and dry, the shoe is ventilated throughout.

These shoes are probably the best bang for the buck. They fit nicely with my Shimano DX PD-M636 pedals and perform their task of transferring power to the pedals with their stiff sole. Looks wise they're one of the best looking shoes on the market, simple and not over-done with a nice black finish to keep it subtle. Ingress and egress is a cinch as the tongue has a useful loop to slide in and out along with simple to use velcro straps that keeps your feet secured. Included with the shoes are toe spikes as well.
The only bad part i noticed was that i typically wear a 44 in euro but these ran a little bigger so a 43 fit me nicely. I did try on some shimano's and specialized shoes prior to purchasing these and noticed they did feel a bit more comfortable but for 3-4x the amount i can sacrifice a smidge on the fitment for something that perform just as well as their competitors. My feet were a little sore when i walked around with them on hard tile but like any other mtb shoes they weren't designed for walking. The only other gripe (which is pretty small) is when im pedaling, there's just a hint of play on the upstroke as if there's just a little bit of wiggle room that could be fixed if i could cinch the velcro straps tighter although i maxed them out as i probably have narrow feet.
All in all I am very happy with these shoes and would give it 5 stars if it weren't for the minor nuisances mentioned above but again for the price you really can't go wrong.

These shoes run a half size small!! If you think you need a size (45) then get the next size up (46). They are sturdy and seem as though they will last a good while. They are made of PVC which doesn't breathe so they added extra venting. This is a great feature in the summer time but, as I am now finding out, they dont make the best winter shoe. Also be careful at water crossings, your feet will get soaked. The metal toe spikes that come with the shoe are loud and bulky, switch those out with rubber football cleats and you are good to go! They are plenty wide to give you a stable platform, but not so much so that they interfere with your crank. These are great shoes for the moeny; you can beat the heck out of them and just throw them out when done. They are also great for riders just getting into clipless pedals and will teach you A LOT about what you want from your next shoes. BOTTOM LINE: buy them, beat them, learn from them, toss them, then buy some good ones; I will!

I`m a beginner and this is my first pair of clipless shoes. They look great, very comfortable. The material feel a little too plastic but it is ok.
This is a no brainer for the price!

Comments about Serfas Saddleback Shoes:
I have wide feet and wear a 10 1/2 to 11 US size shoe. I ordered a size 45 EU and they fit great. My shoes look higher quality than the one in the picture. But as others have said, the materials are a little flimsy. So time will tell how well they hold up. But for the money I paid, I am very impressed with the fit and finish.

Great shoes! I got these because I didn't want to pay over $100 for shoes. I do a lot of trail riding and these hold up perfectly. The only thing that could be better is the weight but they are still pretty light.
