Sacrifice nothing!  The Sortie 29er packs value and performance into a very capable trail bike with 29" wheels.  At the heart of this bike is the proven Knuckle Box suspension system.  Its smooth, efficient & very reliable.  Connecting the bike to the ground are fast rolling 29" wheels & tires.  The bigger diameter has several added benefits.  The first and most noticeable is their ability to roll over object much easier than their older 26" brother.  Plus, the added tire volume allows you to run lower pressures for added control and comfort.

Comments about Diamondback Sortie 29Er 1 MTB Bike '12:

This bike makes trail riding effortless. The knockle box suspension philosophy makes a lot of sense, and was probably the reason why I ultimately chose to get this bike. Lowering the center of gravity of the bike translates to better handling and pedal efficiency. What it all translates to is a rig that climbs like a xc bike, descents like a proper trail bike with sturdy construction worthy of an AM bike. The bike is on the heavier side of things 31+ lbs, but the pedaling efficiency and the big wheels do compensate for this to a good extent. If you really want to shed pounds off this rig, just upgrade it base on the specs of the higher models of this bike (the "Sortie Black 29er" is able to achieve 27lb with the same frame).

Comments about Diamondback Sortie 29Er 1 MTB Bike '12:

I use this bike as a cross country bike. I love it because when you lock out the forks and the rear shock, the bike is a stiffy. Don't get me wrong it ain't no hard tail.... I swapped out a few parts like the pedals, handle bars, and stem. I was looking for a short cockpit and to sit up a little bit more. But I have weak stems on my body that are short. Other than that it is a great buy and you better get it quick because the 2013 are ugly

Comments about Diamondback Sortie 29Er 1 MTB Bike '12:

I spent alot of time reading and comparing several bikes form Spec, to GT, Rocky MT, and Giant. This bike is simply a great choice and I'm very happy with this purchase.
It rides like a dream. Its very comfortable on just about any trail. The Fox shocks are great on this bike.
The only complaint I could come up with is the shifters. They can be loud and harsh at times. I'll have to spend some time adjusting them after I quit spending every minute riding this awesome 29'er...
I bought this bike along with a 2011 DiamondBack Mission 1 for my son. He's more of the Downhill/Freeride kind of kid...
Both are awesome bikes!!!
