This nice machine is old tech. If you want something light, go ahead and get the Shadow Plus (or Sram's new clutched mechs) so you don't get the chain chatter.

This rear derailleur works well with an XTR drivetrain, but it would enhance shifting for just about any drivetrain.
The best thing about this component is that it can help you get into the correct gear while racing if you miscalculate the grade of a climb- this derailleur will allow you to get into the correct gear without chain slip and without chain pop.
