This was my first external bb/hollow crankset setup. What can I say? I love it. For a scant $50-60, I got a crankset plus a bottom bracket. Took off the granny and am running it on a 1x8 setup for trail and commuting use.
I can't really comment on the lightness, but I do love that the external design adds considerable stiffness (the octa-link style spline and adding about 20mm to the width of the bb) and simplicity to the drivetrain. Gone are the days of slipping square taper cranks, overtightened 8mm bolts, and tank-like sealed internal bb's.
I for one, am sold.

Great price for a crank & BB. I took off the little ring and put it on a SS, has a bash guard included so it was perfect for this application. It replaced an old RF crank that literally lasted 8 years of aggressive riding, mostly on SS. Sure the ramped 32t ring is a bit on the low end and will wear more quickly on SS, but they all have to be replaced eventually. It is on the heavy side but for this price you can't really complain about that. This is my first experience with this type BB so we'll see how it lasts.

Very well made crankset. A huge improvement over my stock truvativ crankset in both weight and performance. I used this in a 1x8 setup and it performed very well in dry/dusty and wet/muddy conditions. The bottom bracket was very smooth and did not seem to mind having mud gunk up around it.

BB is a little weak but it will be on my wife's bike and won't take much abuse, however I wouldn't want it on my bike. cranks are good.

Great upgrade or starter set(if you're building a bike). Easy to install even with funky frame dimensions. Put this on my 2008 db recoil with no problems loving the gearing ratio and shifting & compatability, recomend tri-flo red grease for installation.

Super easy to install. The bottom bracket like others have mentioned has some plastic, but I've ridden it through water, snow and mud and it has yet to give me any issues. I have no complaints. For the price it's a great crank! Probably easiest I've ever installed.

I bought this crank to replace a Shimano Deore crankset that became frozen to BB. It's looks great, performs well, chainline fine-tuning. For the price you can't beat it. I would defintely buy it again.

So far it has given new life to a bike I was ready to give up on.
The only problem I have is that on the taller chain ring, It doesn't like to be on taller rear chain rings. It will make some grinding noise against the teeth, as if its not cut for that drive angle. I think it will wear in and be fine.

I recently purchased this crankset to upgrade my existing Shimano Crankset.
I have only clocked up 40 miles to date, have had no issues. Installation was a very simple process. The Crankset is lighter than my old crankset. The individual components were complete and not damaged, Jenson did a good job with shipping there. Rings and Crankarms appear to be holding up well so far to my abuse. Overall this Crankset is ideal for the type of riding I do (XC and light trail) worth the money to upgrade heavier Cranksets for some weight reduction.
