Comments about Shimano SLX RD-M662 Rear Derailleur:
I should have upgraded much earlier! With this derailleur I am able to shift late and under load, without a problem.
Only issue I had was figuring out how to install it, having never changed a derailleur before. Didn't take long, though it becomes obvious once actually doing it. Note if you have a non shadow rear derailleur you will have to shorten the outer and inner cable.

Comments about Shimano SLX RD-M662 Rear Derailleur:
I've had an XT, XTR, and now SLX derailleurs. This SLX works about the same as others that I used. It's definitely good value for money. For best shifting spend your effort on tuning your drive train and replacing worn parts rather than sweating which derailleur to get.

Comments about Shimano SLX RD-M662 Rear Derailleur:
This is a great derailleur. I upgraded my GT idrive 6.0 bike with this rear derailleur. The shifting is precise and the adjustment was very easy. A quality derailleur at this price is a fantastic buy. I would definatly buy one again.

Comments about Shimano SLX RD-M662 Rear Derailleur:
Purchased this to replace the (horrible) Deore M591 that came on a Trance X. Dramatic difference. Shifts are crisp and solid now. I often shift aggressively under load and it doesn't mind. The SLX is scuffed and scraped from all our Northeast rocks yet keeps on going. I've also gotten all sorts of sticks and branches jammed in there without issue.
Compared to X0 and X9 units I have on other bikes, the SLX shifts a bit less smooth and silky. It moves to the next cog with a fairly audible "clunk". But at the price it's a really solid and durable piece that will do everything you ask.

Great price for a spare derailleur. My preference is a higher quality spec, but this will keep you happy on the trails!

Comments about Shimano SLX RD-M662 Rear Derailleur:
Don't bother with an XT, Saint or XTR. This baby shifts! No issue with shifting - used it for XC, trail, AM, FR & DH! No probs... good that it's available in Mid Cage length as well for a 2 x 9 setup. Smooth operator - you don't need to shell out to get an XTR...

If you cannot afford shimanos more expensive Derailleur's this is a great option. I have had this on my AM bike for a little over a year and it is still going strong!

Comments about Shimano SLX RD-M662 Rear Derailleur:
Upgraded my touring bike with this rear derailleur. The shifting is precise and the adjustment was very simple. The sturdiness of the this shifter is the highlight. I have knocked my bike around more than a few times and the SLX groupset holds up nicely.
Also the JensonUSA price point is hard to beat. A quality derailleur at this price is a fantastic buy.

Comments about Shimano SLX RD-M662 Rear Derailleur:
Was cautious of this design but after i tried it it cleaned up the shifting on my home built Monstercrosser. Shifting went from annoying to total confidence with only derailleur change.
