It's like having a 3rd arm for the weekend warrior. Having 3 riders and managing 4 bikes in the stable, this thing pays for itself in no time as tuning is far too convenient now to consider taking the bikes to the shop. I can see how a pro or the hardcore racer might want a bit more bang than the PCS-9 provides, but let's consider the big picture. For the vast majority of riders, the PCS-9 is a Godsend. I would have loved the 10 even more I am sure, but again- I'm looking at price-point and function. This is money well spent to bring everything up to a comfortable working level and allow for full range and freedom to spin the drive train. What more do you need?

On paper this stand looks like a good deal. A Park Tools work stand for [$]? I'm sold. Unfortunately Park cut every corner in the book on this one.To start with, it is a pain to store. You can't break it down without tools, and it takes some time to get it to the point that you can tuck it away somewhere without it taking up a huge amount of floor space. It's height-adjustable, but again you need tools to adjust it. Not even a wing nut to make it tool free? Crazy.Lastly, it is wildly unstable with heavier bikes. I've had one of the legs fold under the weight of a heavier DH bike causing the bike to crash to the ground while my back was turned. Not cool at all. There are several better stands available for this price, you are best trying those instead of this one.

For the money im impressed, the clamp is not as quick as the more expensive option but it works well for what it is designned to do. Makes working on your bike soooo much easier.

Comments about Park Tool Park PCS-9 Economy Home Repair Stand:
I use this to clean, service, and assemble my bikes at home. The base operation is a bit awkward ... not the best if you want something you can quickly store away and pull out as needed. Since it's steel (as opposed to the more expensive aluminum stands) it's also kind of heavy. If I'd had a chance to compare to better ones, I think I would have paid more for something lighter and easier to set up.

The stand works great. I have no issues with it at all other than the clamping mechanism is a little slow (turning a screw basically). If you were to upgrade to the next step up PCS-10 you will get a better clamp. Overall this stand is great. Folds up to a pretty small footprint.

Bought this for use on my own bike in the garage. Great work stand for the price. It could us a knob instead of the allen screw for vertical adjustment. That would make it quicker and easier.. Other that than, nice little stand!

I like this stand, but I liked the old cam leaver clamp on the older stands better. The legs fold better on this one than the old style and it is easier to store. I also like the adjustable height of this one.
