Shimano XT is known for their great braking power. This servo wave braking system has a 125% power rating! Shimano has yet again improved this braking system by integrating over-sized 22mm Ceramic pistons. This increases braking power and reduce vibration. Not only are these excellent brakes, but they are easy to maintain, with the one- way bleed that was integrated into the prior year’s XTR braking system.

decent stopping pwr, nice looking, i don't mind the short brake lever, only have 3 rides on them. replacing 2010 model avid codes (that i had nothing but problems with)

A real benchmark of a brake for all-mountain/trail bikes that other brakes should be judged by. My only grip is that the new style levers/master cylinder are not ideal compatibility with adjustable seatpost remote levers...in particular, the Rockshox Reverb.

I mostly ride AM with longed sustained steep runs. These brakes are quiet, powerful and have yet to fade. They feel very precise and have tons of modulation.
