Had one before on my giant reingn for one season and I was able to make long rides without performance shorts. Sold it with the bike. This is my second one but the pictured one was all black but the one that arrived was black and chrome. Called Jenson USA and they gave me a $10. credit, so that worked out, no complaint. Something you should know if using for downhilling. I get brused on my inner thighs going behind the saddle from the wide whale tail.

Not bad for the price, but I like a softer seat. I will use this until I can justify buying something softer.

My preferred saddle for long rides

Comments about WTB Pure V Race Saddle:

For longer rides I like the Pure V saddle by WTB. Sure, it's a few grams heavier than many others but it worth it! The center groove eliminates numbeness and the leather is tough enough to take on a fair number of crashes.

Comments about WTB Pure V Race Saddle:

I have had this saddle for a few years now. It has been pure satisfaction to me.
The soft wings give a nice comfortable peddling platform and is long enough in the nose to slide forward for the climbing efforts.
Mine is starting to show signs of wear, but after so long I think it should. I have ridden saddles that are easier to move around on but for prolonged comfort, for me, this can't be beat.

I'm on my second one of these and I still have my old one as a spare. Using the newest one on a Soma Analog hardtail and this saddle smooths out the ride and looks good doing it.

mainly on my ss mtb...that bike is gone now along with the saddle.
solid saddle that put up with a lot of dirt and winter riding
at times the rails were a bit noisy...probably a dynamic of rainy days...nothing a little grease couldn't cure

Comments about WTB Pure V Race Saddle:

I've used this on my commuter for 2 years, and think it's one of the most comfortable saddles I've owned. Works well with pretty much any clothing type, and in a variety of positions. It seems to strike a good balance between minimalist racing saddle and cushier around-town saddle (neither of which I like or need).

Comments about WTB Pure V Race Saddle:

This saddle is better than my serfas rx. I'm a big rider, so I need something a bit more comfy. This is really comfy, I decided to put it on my other bike. I got the all black color, looks sweet on the bike, clean. It's not heavy, but not the lightest out there. I'm not weight weenie so I don't really care about weight. Once broken in, the saddle is really comfy. It's not too stiff and not too soft either, it's perfect for me. The shape is also nice, doesn't catch to my shorts or pants when I need to slide back. Would definitely buy this same one if I need another saddle.

Comments about WTB Pure V Race Saddle:

I bought this saddle for the road bike I use for commuting, and the WTB Speed is really comfortable. I have WTB's on all my road bikes, including the Laser on another commuting bike and the Diva on two other road bikes. The Speed is so comfortable that I think I can probably get away with wearing just regular shorts/pants (with no cycling padding). Especially comfortable when I turned up the nose just a tad.Good deal!
