Diamondback Session 24 BMX Bike 2012

The Session 24 may be a bit mellower than its little brother, the Session 20, but that doesn't mean it has less guts. A steel frame and fork, FSA headset, Tektro 907 rear brake, and Chromoly 3 piece cranks match that of its sibling, but the 24" wheels make the bike a bit more stable and comfortable. With that said, it can still show up its little brother whether it be on the street, at a park, on the trail, or over jumps.
  • Hi-Ten steel frame
  • Hi-Ten steel fork w/ 1 1/4" OD legs, 1 1/8" threadless steerer, 6mm dropouts
  • FSA 1 1/8" threadless headset
  • Hi-Ten 2-piece handlebar, 26.5" wide x 5.1" rise
  • DB Naga Grips w/ Nylon End Plugs
  • 3 bolt alloy top load stem
  • Tektro 907 U-brakes w/ soft compound pads
  • Tektro 2 finger brake levers
  • 3 Piece Crank
  • DB Sound Pedal, Plastic w/ Chromo Axles
  • Rims: 36h aluminum, 30mm wide
  • Hubs: (F) 36h steel shell w/ 3/8" axle (R) 48h steel shell w/ 14mm axle
  • KMC Z410 1/2 x 1/7
  • Kenda K-rad 24x1.85 tires
  • DB Darin Read Signature Padded Seat
  • 25.4mm steel pillar seatpost

Comments about Diamondback Session 24 BMX Bike 2012:

Great bike to get into bmx with. Its sturdy and fairly well built. The handlebars have a habit of slipping around if you don't tighten the stem down really hard. The inside of the stem is painted in a gloss coat, so some sandpaper and a bit of elbow grease would probably take care of the slipping bars issue.

Paint on forks came damaged on delivery. The strange thing was the box was still in good shape. I guess a fresh coat of paint will have to do, just didn't expect to paint a new bike. Overall the bike is solid. Tank solid. This bike is HEAVY. Very tough looking setup. Only time will tell how tough but Diamondback makes a pretty durable bike.

This is my first bmx bike. I use it to get around my college campus. It gets me too classes in very good time. I don't like how short the seat post is it is hard to sit down and pedal.

Bike was fairly easy to assemble. Seat post was short, so replaced it after a trip to the local bike shop. Great price. Local bike shops quoted around $400 for a 24" BMX bike. So far all is good.

Great bike for riding with kids, and at their level from a Mt.Bike.

Kids like to ride it as well!

Comments about Diamondback Session 24 BMX Bike 2012:

At the pricepoint it is a good bike for entry level Cruiser class racing. Im 50+ and have no desire to go to the Nationals, so hi-tech was not required.
Easy to build out-of-the box, reasonable quality, pulling the cheezy snakeskin decals off made it look much better. The frame itself is HEAVY and will probably outlast any Navy battleship. The parts are of OK quality but work fine. I put taller bars on and real, pegged BMX pedals and look forward to racing it. It arrived with no freight damage but the rims required some tweakage before it could be ridden. Im sure they will again, too. For the price Jenson wants for these, you really cant go wrong. Recommended.

Bought this for my sons and I have been riding it too. Awesome bike for the price. I wish it was easier to find 24" tires for it but other than that it beats all the other bikes I was liking at for my son.

Comments about Diamondback Session 24 BMX Bike 2012:

Got this bike to get back into BMX after riding MTB for the past 10 years. However, my knee wasn't doing great with the low seat, long cranks, and no suspension. Sold it and bought a new All Mountain MTB frame instead.

The larger size was a great step into a BMX from a 26 inch MTB. Pretty long chainstay for a BMX however, so a little harder to manual than a 20 inch bike would be. Not chromoly, but seemed stiff enough for me 200 pound frame to jump and flat land. Pedals were terrible (no traction plastic pinned) and

the seatpost was about 4 inches long. Seriously. Upgrade the pedals, seatpost, and seat and this is a great bike to get back into BMX.
